My Timex Classic Camper Watch Article On AskMen.com
To be perfectly honest it is hard to write about a $35 watch after you have been writing about $35,000 watches. On the one hand, it is hard to be fair to the $35 watch, and on the other hand it is hard to make a case to the $35 watch market for a $35,000 watch that itself may just tell the time. In writing this review I needed to metaphorically step back a few paces and review the Timex Classic Camper as though it were in a vacuum. I actually like the watch for what it is - a dead simply, sort of retro themed, basic timepiece. No frills, nothing fancy, and easily disposable if need be. Cheap, not very big, and a watch. Exactly what you need many circumstances. See what I mean?See my Timex Classic Camper watch article on AskMenwatches-dealer here. First Omega and New member!
Hey everyone! So this is basically my first real post on here. I just joined up on the forum yesterday. I have always been a huge watch fan my entire life and I finally bought my first legit watch. I wanted something classy and dressier so I went with a vintage Omega Seamaster. I was doing a lot of research on vintage Omegas before I found one and purchased. The 565 movement is suppose to be one of the more reliable ones Omega made so I jumped at the chance to buy this one. I'm pretty excited with it.
Just landed...
I haven't posted in awhile but just made my first vintage purchase ever (thanks to Achova). It's not a Rolex but I am already quite please with the new buy. It's a late 1960s Omega Pre-Moon Speedmaster with the cal. 861 movement. It's in great shape and I took it off the bracelet to put on a horween strap (originally purchased for my sub-c, though they didn't go well together). I have to admit that I now have the vintage bug and will probably only purchase those now. Hello Red Sub...I've included my Sub-C here so that there's some Rolex content.
What speedmaster?
I am looking to buy a speedmaster, but I don't know what model. I want a 40-42mm case automatic no number dial, prefer no date. Which model should I look for? Thanks in advance,
strap width mm for a Zulu on a DSSD?
Ok. I did due diligence, (actually, I have only been searching the threads for about 10 minutes, but got impatient ). I want to put a 5 ring Zulu on my DSSD, and wanted to know the best width to order. I don't have calipers, but it is looking like 22 or 24 mm. Any of you know offhand what the proper width would be? THANKS!
