Bring a Loupe: An Untouched Omega Speedmaster, An Unusual Breitling, And Other Interesting Finds (Including A Vulcain Cricket That Might Have Belonged To President Truman)
This week, you followed all the exciting SIHH novelties live from Geneva; today, Bring A Loupe returns with some really gorgeous vintage watches – or vintage-inspired, in the case of my favorite Grand Seiko. You will notably discover how a Speedmaster looked when it was sold in 1971, and admire a nicely preserved Movado. I have also found an intriguing bullhead watch from Breitling, and a not-so-great medical chronograph from Universal Geneve. This is your Bring A Loupe for January 22, 2016. An Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.022, NOS From 1971 1 OF 14 Finding an untouched example is a recurrent fantasy for watch collectors – probably not as frequent as a time-travel machine to stock up on vintage references, but not far off. Disappointed in the recent new color designs on the ROO
I mean seriously with all the weird colors...it went from high-end luxury to kiddos fake replica feeling...Though, I am glad that they heard us and started giving the 42mm with ceramic bezels...I am serious douching my APs and just go back to Rolexes (I sold all my Rolexes just before they all went up in prices)

Aqua Terra 2500
Hi guys,I have a chance to buy a 41mm Aqua Terra. It is a few years old but in great condition and with a beautiful blue dial. It has the crystal back and a very pretty looking 2500 movement. What is the general opinion of these 'first generation' AT's? It seems a bit slimmer than the new ones and has a different crown arrangement but I really like the look of it. I realise the new 8500 movements are bigger - is that why the new AT's look 'bulkier'? Your thoughts would be welcome.Cheers
