Zenith 2010 Watches + CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour Interview
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jean-Frederic Dufour, the CEO of Zenith, on his visit to Los Angeles to present the El Primero Striking Jean-Louis Etienne, a special edition chronograph honoring the Arctic explorer of its name. The event took place at Westime in Beverly Hills, an influential watch boutique and one of Zenith's authorized dealers.A charming man spring-loaded with enthusiasm, Dufour loves to retell the story of the beginnings of Zenith when Georges Favre-Jacot at the age of 22 invented the modern manufacture with all the specialties under one roof. Dufour is proud of the fact that Zenith started as a true manufacture and still is to this day, making all their own parts, including hairsprings, and even residing at the same address since 1865.Dufour has only been overseeing the company a little over a year and his main objective has been to bring back the true brand identity of Zenith, which he defines as a pioneering spirit. As an outward expression of this pionee
Review Limes Endurance 1000 GMT3
When one discusses the desirable qualities in a watch, there are many potential factors to take into consideration. Build quality, looks, price, complications, etc And these factors can get very specific depending on one's needs, such as helium-escape valves for divers.?It's not often that a watch comes along that covers a particularly large amount of those potential needs, and the Limes Endurance 1000 GMT 3 is one such watch. At 1,195 Euros, or about $1,575, the German made Endurance features an ETA 2893-2 TOP grade GMT movement, a 1000m water resistance, sapphire crystal, an incredibly sturdy build and a unique three time zone design. While the price is certainly more than the bulk of watches we discuss, the Limes Endurance offers substantial value by being a "multi-tool" as well as packing a top grade ETA movement.Limes is a German brand that is run and manufactured by the Ickler family out of Pforzheim Germany. If that name sounds familiar, it's because we've recently also reviewe
How to authenticate second hand Rolex watch
Greetings to all of youI'm mostly a silent reader of this forum and have been bitten by Rolex bug recently. I'm looking to buy a day-date model. With my budget constraints, I'm looking into second hand market (mostly 1803/18038 model as they're cheaper). I wonder if its possible to authenticate them by some store/expert than sending them to Rolex Service center? My location is Central NJ.Thanks for all your help.P.S.: this is the watch which caught my eye- swissangeles/rolex-men-s-...nd-18038-model
Thinking of adding some Platinum
I usually start planning my annual addition to the collection around this time. I do this until Basel passes and then lock something in.Was originally considering adding a YG DD40 to my collection because I love the RG so much but now the Platinum DD40 (ice blue/sticks)is singing to me.Will be adding to this..
Datejust 116200 oyster clasp
New to the forum, here to ask a question about a concern over my datejust 116200 oyster clasp. I tried to pull out the easy link extension but forgot which part of the clasp the extension was located, I basically pulled on the part that anchors to close the clasp only to realize a few seconds later that The easy link extension was on the opposite side. My question is, how strong/durable is the side of the clasp that I pulled, physically the clasp is working fine but would like to hear anyone who knows more about it.
