My "greatest regret from not buying" moment...
For some reason, perhaps an unhealthy combination of booze and pills (totally kidding about that), I was having a remembering my greatest regret from not buying moment this evening and it turns out that it was actually over an Omega. About nine years ago (you know, when MSRP on a Seamaster 300M chronometer was $1,750), when I was still in college, I was in a jeweler in my home town and what did they have left in their case? A NOS Omega Dynamic chronograph. Retail on it was something ridiculously low, like $895 and I could have gotten a decent discount on it, but for a guy in school it still seemed like too much. Then, the other day I saw a used one for $1,250... So, anyone else have a moment like this?
Flick your wrists? To hear / feel the movement?
So being new to the Patek world, I just love how the Aqua's 324 movement makes a noise, and rotor can actually be felt spinning.I find myself when wearing my Rolex, I still do the movement, until I remember that I am not wearing the Patek.I am losing it.
Rolex - keep cutting supply of sports models please!! (What say you?)
Is any one else happy that Rolex has cut supply on sports models? Or in the alternative, if given the choice between unlimited supply of sports models and what's most probably manufactured scarcity, is anyone else happy about the scarcity?I actually like that Rolex is forward-thinking in order to keep value in the brand. I like that they're taking (what they feel to be) affirmative steps to ensure value retention in an uncertain mechanical watch future landscape. If they didn't do that, I'd imagine that it would be easy to be blindsided. Don't believe me, go back thirty years and tell Sears and Kmart and Blockbuster that they wouldn't be on top in their respective industries. We hear a lot from the people who are salty because they can't find a Daytona or a 116610lv or a blnr. They're perpetually on the cusp of leaving the brand for Omega or Iwc. But I think that there are folks that think that Rolex' strategy is a good one. Any thoughts from that camp?
Anyone seen the Monochrome Submariner predictions?
Has anyone read and seen what they've predicted? https://monochrome-watches/rolex...-watches-2018/Brings the Sub more up to date in my opinion.
