Christie’s Geneva Auction Achieves Over SFr. 19 Million
Christie’s November 16 Geneva auction set nine world record prices for Patek and Rolex references on the way to achieving the highest total for any watch auction in 2009: SFr. 19,032,388, or just under $19 million. This was nearly twice the pre-sale low estimate. The results reflected sales of 97% by value and 94% by lot. 900 bidders from 5 continents participated in the sale live, online and on the telephone. The top price of SFr. 2,400,000 was paid for a Patek Philippe ref. 1526 perpetual calendar wristwatch. Rounding out the top 5 were a gold 1924 Patek single-button chronograph at SFr. 939,000, a platinum Patek ref. 3448/100 perpetual calendar with moon phases at SFr. 783,000, a pink gold Patek ref. 2438/1 perpetual calendar at SFr. 711,000, and a gold Patek ref. 1579 chronograph at SFr. 675,000. I'm so angry, what should I do?
Warning, long read.So I had a little scratch on my diver's bezel on the edge where the brushed surface meets the polished surface near the 5 o'clock marker, it was annoying me because I had no idea where did it come from; My diver was a little fast too so I thought I would send it for regulating and bezel polishing.I went to the boutique and showed the employee the scratch, I told him that I want to get it polished, and he told me that it wasn't noticeable and it wasn't worth it to send the watch to Switzerland-the nearest service center is the one in Le Brassus-for that little scratch, I told him that it needed regulating also then he said that was worth sending the watch to do both and it would take between 4 and 5 months to get it back.As soon as I got home I realized that I would miss it so much and I don't want to send it, I called and told him not to send it and that I would pass by on the next day to get my bracelet fixed on it and take it home; I went the next day with the brac

Planning to get a new Rolex
Hello Everyone!I am planning to get my first Rolex GMT II, but confuse which model to get. I want to wear it everyday, so not too fancy one. Its hard to decide which model to get on GMT.1) Batman (waiting is 6 months)2) 2018 Steel Pepsi (Waiting period not sure)3) GMT two tone Black and 18 ct gold (Waiting period not sure)Maybe you guys own these Rolexs previoulsy, and help to choose which one is best for everyday use. I also like GMT two tone (Black/Gold), but is it suitable to wear eveyday?? Also, new Pepsi GMT looks great but I think Jubilee doesnt go well with everyday casual outfit, what you guys think ?Thanks in advance,Nali
