Snoopy Speedy watches the shuttle launch....
I think I have wanted to see the shuttle launch since it first started flying. I have a good friend and we've been talking about it for the past 10 years and realized we'd better get going as there were only 4 remaining before the shuttle is retired later this year.We watched the predawn launch from a friends house about 20 miles south of Cape Caneveral. IT WAS AWESOME! Now we've decided we have to go back to the next launch in July (3rd to last) too. After the launch, we went out to the Kennedy Space center. Some pics from that day wearing, what else? My Speedmaster Professional Snoopy.Sorry some of the pics are less than sharp...they were all taken with my IPhone! Hope you enjoy!--Paul Snoopy checks out the Rocket Farm of Redstones, Atlas, Gemini, Titans etc..One of the few remaining unused Lunar Landers in front of the Apollo 13 mission patch...The Snoopy statue inside the Apollo missions complex...Believe this is the command module from Apollo 14 or 15...this thing has actuall
Passed up a 5164 today... should I have?
I was passing my AD today and so thought I'd pop in for a coffee and a chat..He brought out 2 pieces to show me.. one was a 5711 blue dial which I've never tried on before - Not avail to buy but he also brought out a steel 5164 which was for sale.. we chatted about it and I was tempted but in the end when side by side with my 5167r I decided either it wasn't the right next Patek for me or at least not today..Was I right?Deal was List priceI think had it been a piece that was going up by 20% then it would def have been more likely going home with me.. but as it was I just felt that it didn't sing to me in the way my RG one did... Legacy / Birthyear Watch
So, my first child (boy) is scheduled to arrive this coming October. *my avatar does not accurately reflect how I feel about it*Anyway....I was thinking of getting a birth-year watch to mark the occasion. Something that would be special, that I can enjoy for a while before I pass along to my son when he comes of age. The only caveat being that I would want to acquire it by October (so no extremely hard to get watches). I was thinking of the TT CHNR to mark the occasion and have as the heirloom (talked to my AD and am confident I can source by October). Just posting to hear about other members' birth-year watch stories. Also to gather some alternative opinions to the TT CHNR (maybe non-Rolex)? *my current collection is in my signature* Muchisimas gracias
