Concord C1 QuantumGravity Movement (And Whatever Upcoming Watch) Annoys Me
My problems with Concord all started with the "revitalization" of the brand a few years ago when the Concord C1 watch line was released. I wrote this article discussing how (and why) I didn't care for the design of the C1. The brand keeps coming out with new watches all based on the C1, some more hideous that others. Then came out the vertically aligned tourbillon watch, and most recently, the tourbillon version of the Concord C1 will be supplemented with this new movement, the C1 QuantumGravity - and I am thoroughly annoyed by it.It is funny, because other watches and watch companies do a lot of the same things that Concord is doing, but the marketing and attitude at Concord irks me the most. In the market for an Omega: Planet Ocean vs. Speedmaster Pro
I am currently thinking about adding an Omega to the collection. The two strongest contenders is the Omega Planet Ocean Orange XL 2208.50 or the Omega Speedmaster Professional Double sapphire 3573.50. Having a hard time in deciding between the two. I love the sportiness of the Planet Ocean and I think the size is better fit for my wrist. But I also love the timelessness of the Speedmaster. The newly released Planet Oceans really overshadow the old ones, and I am worried about getting a watch that will soon be dated.

Production shortage
So I have a theory. I saved up for a long time to buy my first Rolex a month ago. One thing that pissed my off, was the bezel didn't line up at 12 with the click. Evidently this is a known issue with ceramic bezels. Some believe since this a mass produced product it was ok to have QC issues. Since it's a Rolex it's ok to have a flaw. Other brands don't seem to get judged the equally. When looking used I was afraid of getting a fake. Buy the seller not the watch. Doing my research I was told Rolex watches are supposed to be perfect if they are real. I think over the years the philosophy of perfection has gone away. Either due to increased capacity to meet demand or their QC has gone down. No company produces everything perfect and there is always going to be one offs. Long story short - maybe Rolex is slowing down production to fix QC. They could also be getting ready for changing over of the big selling modelswith new movements.
