Mark Carson Ka La Ladies Watch On Kickstarter
Sponsored PostIn 2010, I started?Individual Design (now marketed as Mark Carson) with the goal of producing uniquely designed, high quality watches at affordable prices. It took 2 years to develop and begin deliveries of my men's Ka La ("The Sun" in Hawaiian) watches. Ever since those first customer deliveries in 2012, people have been asking for a ladies version of these unique watches with their signature case design and spinning seconds disk. With the design goals of a more modest size and price point, I began designing a Ladies Ka La Watch and I am now ready to begin production as soon as funding is secured. With a unique design inspired by the sundial, these ladies watches are elegant enough for a night out, while their contemporary design makes them suitable for daily wear. The retail price will be $400 when these watches are sold at selected fine watch and jewelry stores.OK, enough with the marketing-speak. Let's cut to the chase: go to my Kickstarter Project Page and sign up fo
Technical Perspective: Kari Voutilainen Reviews Four High-End Chronographs, Sort Of
Suffice it to say master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen knows a thing or two about a good watch. That's why when we saw our friends at QP Magazine ask the highly regarded technician about some of today's most revered, but serially produced chronographs, we took notice. 1 OF 1 Kari doesn't really "review" the watches in any great detail – for that you'll have to rely on our Three on Three of the best manually wound chronographs in the world – but he does offer some interesting insight into what makes each movement special.Have a read right here.
New Navy ROO - easy colour to use?
Hi,I am brand new to the AP brand, tried some on yesterday and wow, I fell in love!!I love the rose gold Royal oak with leather strap, but I think a better starting point would be a Royal Oak Offshore - lower entry price and better daily watch for my lifestyle. I love the rubber strap on a premium watch, very cool.So I am now considering a few models, the new navy dial + navy strap 26470 - which I have found for ?14k for a brand new one.The others are the 26170 Navy and the 26170 Panda - both costing about ?10k for a used one.So I have a couple of questions.(1) Does anyone have any experience of using this new navy ROO? I tried it on yesterday and it looked amazing, but I had a blue t-shirt and jeans on, so naturally it matched perfectly! I just wonder when using other colour clothes if the blue ends up clashing or if it still looks just as good? How easy is it to use basically I want to know, as I intend to use it as my daily watch and put my YG GMT-IIC to rest for special occasions.(
Would you Trade...
Lange Zeitzone Platinum for a 5980 /1a straight up?have a potential cash buyer for my 5980 and someone that wants to trade for the Lange. I like the lange but the funds from 5980 were to go towards another patek. Just not sure if I want to add Lange to my collection...Anyone familiar with Lange and this particular model care to chime in? What I like about this watch is that its large (41.9mm) - what I dont like is that Lange doesnt seem to hold up as well on the secondary market.thoughts?
Paying to Bypass the Line
You can pay the bouncer at a club to bypass the line. You can pay at a restaurant to get a table immediately. You can pay to avoid standing in line for rides at DisneyWorld. You can pay to drive in express lanes to get somewhere faster. Now, the latter two are more official than the former two. But the point is you can pay a business/person to get things faster in different areas of life.Has anyone paid someone at an AD to bypass the list for a hot watch?
