To help announce the new timepieces was the woman of affairs and Top Model Elle Macpherson
They have recently released their first quarter, Aspen One in Aspen in Colorado (of course). To help announce the new timepieces was the woman of affairs and Top Model Elle Macpherson. A face as its own is enough to attract attention, and better yet, she was there to make a donation of almost $50,000 diamond version of Aspen a quarter of a local non-profit, challenge Aspen and Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club (AVSC).
Which ROO would you choose?
Dear fellow users,I am thinking of adding a ROO to my collection. I would like to buy one with metal bracelet. I narrowed down my choices to 2 models:1) old model 26170 with Panda dial - this comes by default with metal bracelet2) actual model 26470 with black/red dial - this comes with black-red leather strap but a metal bracelet is available as extraI like very much the Panda dial, maybe it pops out a little more than the more subtle black/red. However, the new model has some new features that make me think about it: ceramic pushers, see-through case back, some small changes on the case design and slightly crisper details on the dial.I am curious what you are thinking. Do the updates on the new model compensate for the slightly less attractive dial?(photos were taken from the web)Thank you!
ROC vs. ROO
I've been thinking about trading in my RO on the new ROO Navy for quite some time now. I like the color combo and the bold styling of the offshore. However, over the past couple weeks I've been drawn to the ROC. It has that classic design with the added aesthetics of the sub dials and pushers. Plus, the ROC doesn't sit way off the wrist like the ROO does. My wrist can easily handle the 42mm of the ROO but I'm wondering if I will get tired of how tall it sits? I feel like it will be fine because I wear a G-Shock daily and it sits just as tall if not taller. Also, I think I prefer the black vs. white face on the ROC but I'm not quite sure? I love the white/silver face of my RO but from the pictures I've seen, black looks better on the ROC.I do have to throw in that I am an Auburn Tigers fan - another reason why I love the new Navy so much!Lets see those votes!
AP Diver Woes and Wear?
Hey all, new to the forum but have been lurking for a while. Anyways I am planning to add a diver to my collection and have been weighing a couple of options: the Blancpain Bathyscaphe Chronograph in ceramic, the Hulk Submariner, and the AP Diver in SS. After trying all of them on, I prefer the AP, but have heard bad things about wear and tear on the bezel/scratches on the case. I'd like to see any pics AP diver owners may have showing wear on the steel if possible just to see what everyone is talking about. Also, how does the AP diver compare as a daily wear to a Sub-C?Thanks in advance!
Possible Explorer II Price Increase
Just an FYI from a conversation I had so take it for what it's worth. Was at an AD with my BLNR and SubC this morning and chatted with the watchmaker for an hour. Well into our conversation about watches, safes, insurance, etc he mentioned he was made aware by Rolex that the Explorer II's will be getting a significant price increase soon. Possibly as early as Feb. Mind you that I was in an AD so it may have just been bait on a hook, but he was WELL aware from our conversation that I won't be purchasing another sport piece anytime soon and my next piece will be a Cellini. I think if he had just been throwing around bs to get me to walk out of there with another Rolex, he would have substituted Explorer II with Cellini because I tried on 4 different variations of it. Again, take it for what it's worth.
