Girard-Perregaux ww.tc Steel Chronograph
Girard-Perregaux is introducing a new steel version of its popular ww.tc chronograph. Originally launched in 2000, this collection has quickly become one of G-P’s iconic lines. The ww.tc (world wide time control) displays all 24 time zones on its dial. An exclusive coupling mechanism drives the ring displaying 24 cities representing the zones. The hour ring also has a day/night indicator. The ergonomic, satin-finished case measures 43mm in diameter. For this new model, the dial and 24-hour ring have been redesigned, and the baton-style hands are also new. The GP033C0 in-house movement combines chronograph and date functions with world time indication. The automatic movement, visible through a display back, offers a 46 hour power reserve.Customers can select between an elegant black matte alligator strap or a more sporty satin-finish steel bracelet. The USA suggested retail price is $14,650. Complete technical specifications appear below the image.Technical specificationsSteel cas
Nayla Hayek Named Swatch Group Chairwoman
Nayla Hayek has been named chairwoman of the Swatch Group Ltd., succeeding her father, Nicolas G. Hayek, who died of heart failure at Swatch Group headquarters in Bienne, Switzerland on June 28. She was elected by a unanimous vote of the board of directors on June 30. Previously, she was vice-chairman of the board. The move is doubtless the transition that Hayek Senior wanted. It ensures that the management of the world's largest watch company remains in family hands. Nayla Hayek's brother, G. Nicolas (Nick) Hayek, succeeded his father as Swatch Group CEO in 2003. Hayek Senior had two children. The fact that they now hold the two most important posts in the company that he founded guarantees that the policies and vision he put in place will remain.Nicolas Hayek Senior controlled 40% of the shares of the Swatch Group through what is called the Hayek Pool. The Hayek family is understood to now control those shares. Nayla Hayek has been a member of the Swatch Group board of directors si
Very Limited Edition
Hello Breitling fans - first time posting on this section and first post for some time.OK here we go, I was just presented with this watch by a friend of a friend who knows I am a watch nut - I don't know an awful lot about the brand full stop but could not resist seeing something quite so rare, apparently number 4 of only 5 watches in existance. According to its' owner he has contacted Brietling and had the watch authenticated, he does know who owned the watch before him but I will keep that to myself.......so, what do you think?.....any comments welcome.......it's not my thing but it's certainly very impressive...
keep or flip Sub for PO?
I have been currently infatuated by the orange PO. I think it is the ultimate cool watch. It helps that I am a Clemson Tiger so orange is in my blood. Exactly a year ago I acquired a F series Rolex 14060. It was always a goal to own one. I have rarely worn it on a bracelet. I like it but don't love it. The wanting for years was way more than actually owning it. Part of me wants to flip it to put towards not one but two PO's, orange and a black. I think going pre-owned, I could be close in price. At the same time, I know the Sub is a timeless piece that will also hold its value. I probably would regret selling in time but I so want a PO in orange. I really don't know what to do. Its also time for a service on my Sub so there is another $700ish... Service or flip... quite a quandary...
