Vacheron Constantin Launches The Ultra Complicated Reference 57260, Plus Multiple Drop Dead Gorgeous
This is shaping up to be an absolutely astonishing year for Vacheron Constantin. Even without the Reference 57260 (which we covered for you here, and here, and here) it would have been an impressive year for VC just on the basis of its new Harmony Collection (which, you might remember, we looked at here and here, and which we also covered in the latest installment of Three on Three). But then, they dropped the Reference 57260 on us – and now, at Watches & Wonders in Hong Kong, they’ve give us even more. Let’s start with a watch we fell in love with the minute we saw the pictures: the Historiques Cornes de Vache 1955. The name is just one of the many things that sound better in French; it means “cow’s horns” – and the watch is pretty much a solid, unadulterated dose of horological pleasure. This isn’t the first time you’ve seen it, if you follow HODINKEE, but having seen it in the metal, we can assure you, it’s every
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15300 INCOMING!!!!
After all your great work at instigating me to get a new watch while my AP 5402 is at the Clearwater spa, I pulled the trigger a few minutes ago on a gorgeous Blue Tappiserie Royal Oak 15300 that DAVIDSW had for sale. I will be getting the watch tomorrow and I will post some wrist shots and glam shots then. Until tomorrow. Now, gotta decide what needs to go from my collection. Tough decision. Here's one of David's pics from his listing.
Speedmaster "First Omega in space"
Omega is releasing a numbered edition replica of the first Omega worn in space. Its a bit smaller than the moon watch, the hands and lugs are different and it comes on a strap. Priced at CHF 4750. I gotta say I like it. What is your take on it?Read more here: .fratellowatches/omega...in-space-1962/
Planet Ocean Chrono Olympic v Planet Ocean Ti Lm 8500
Just picked up the new Planet Ocean 8500 Titanium Liquid Metal today and I love it. The color is extremely difficult to capture in photos, it's a dark blue color which I love. The case and bracelet are lightweight but feel very solid. Overall I am really pleased with the new addition. Since the boneheads at Rolex won't make a blue ceramic sub in SS, this one has scratched my itch perfectly for a blue dial watch.
James Cameron dilemma
Call me crazy but I got into the Rolex world a little over a month ago and now I have SUBCDJ41 Blue dial jubilee braceletBLNRSUB LVc (to be delivered tomorrow)All bought newMy question is would it be crazy to add a James Cameron to the collection? I passed a great deal a couple of weeks ago for $11,130 because it wore too big (I have a big wrist 7.75) I don't buy watches for investment but don't want to lose money on those watches on the long run either so if I buy the JC for around 11k new from AD, would I lose money on it a year later if I didn't like it and decided to sell it?Thank you
