Introducing: The Bulova CURV Chronographs, With High Frequency Shaped Quartz Movements
Since 2007, Bulova has been owned by the Citizen Watch Co. of Japan, but it was for many decades before that an upstanding member of the American horological community, with many innovations to its credit C including, of course, the Accutron. The tuning-fork-based Accutron is largely a thing of the past, but Bulova still innovates in timekeeping technology, with its high-frequency, high-accuracy quartz calibers C and now, with its CURV family of chronographs, it presents the first curved-movement quartz chronographs ever made. 1 OF 8 2 OF 8 The CURV chronographs are, as they say, just what it says on the tin: shaped quartz chronograph watches, which allows the watch to sit very comfortably on the wrist. The movement is a variation on the Precisionist calibers that Bulova first introduced in 2010. These movements have a 262 kilohertz frequency, as opposed to about 32 kilohertz for a conventional quartz oscillator. The upshot is better accuracy C about +/- 10 seconds
NWD (new watch day) :)
Hello boys and girls, First of all sorry for opening a new thread but this is exciting!!!!!Just wanted you to know that today I am SUPER HAPPY for the reason that this baby arrived..Just to let you know that, in Cyprus there are no AP dealers of ANY kind and I have only ordered the safari out of pure enjoyment of watching its photos online and the various reviews (yes i know its silly, but its one of those times that when a watch grows into you, then you HAVE to own it!)Anyway, all that i have to say is that this watch is UNBELIEVABLE, every 5 minutes I tend to look at it and believe me its not because I want to know what time is it, but because this piece is amazing. So, if anyone is thinking about buying a safari, then DO IT.The creme bezel alongside with the brown strap is absolutely stunning and it sometimes fool you between a sport watch and a suit watch.. it is simply a perfect balance!needless to say that, officialy, AP is no.1 (at least for me)Anything you need to know about it
Advice wanted; A couple of different buying options
I’ve been reading this forum for some time now and I get a lot of great information. I’m kinda of in limbo land trying to decide on a watch or watches to buy. I’m consider the following pre-owned PP watches and I have in the low 20s to spend:Option 1:5110 5035 5055 6000 5296 5711 (blue or white dial)Option 2:5065ARolex Milgauss (green sapphire crystal model)I currently own a few Rolexes and wear a Daytona daily. If I went with Option 1, I would wear the PP watch occasionally and continue wearing the Daytona everyday. If I went with Option 2, I would probably swap out the 5065a and the Milgauss or with my other Rolexes on a daily basis. (How likely is that, usually once a favorite is picked out and then it becomes the daily to wear). Here is the dilemma I’m wrestling with, the watches listed in Option 1 I really prefer over the 5065a. Problem is I don’t see wearing it everyday and it will stay in the watch winder more than on my wrist. With Option 2 I think
Small incoming
First 42mm Panerai, was worried it would be too small as I've only owned 44mm PAM's but I'm pleasantly surprised!
Panerai Pam312
I have a couple of questions for experts.I have just purchased a Pam 312 from a reputable watch store. The Ltd Ed number is xxxx/2500 but those I see online seem to be xxxx/4000.Also those online have a brushed steel case and mine has a polished steel case.Do I have a variation of the Pam312 or have I got a different Pam?I have no reason to think that I have a fake. Everything checks out but for peace of mind I would like to know. Thanks in anticipation.Daltexs1
