Vacheron Constantin To Host Children's Workshop In Its New York City Boutique
Some?big news for little watchmakers: it has been announced that Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest continuously operating watchmaking brand, will be sharing their wisdom with the next generation of horological heroes. On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, Vacheron Constantin will be holding a children's workshop at their New York boutique as part of Madison Avenue Watch Week. Young visitors will be encouraged to tap into 260 years of experience, have their questions answered and maybe even have their hearts set on the path towards a career in the industry.Vacheron Constantin opened their first mono-brand US boutique in New York City in September, 2011The hands-on workshop will be led by an instructor from the North American Institute of Swiss Watchmaking and children will have the opportunity to learn?the basics of?how a mechanical watch works and even get the chance to make and take home their own clock! From a personal perspective, this is very exciting news. What's so special about the Aquanaut dial?
Can anyone explain to me how Patek makes the Aquanaut dial so that the sunburst affect and color changes from black to brown to grey depending on the lighting and angle? I've never owned a watch where the dial can change so much. I've done a few google searches and can't find anything about the dial specifically. I really think the dial is what makes this watch. Just incredible.
5960r day-date-month black on white or white on black?
Looking at used 5960r black on-line and some photos show black background white lettering in the day-date-month aperatures and others show white with black lettering. I know the 5960p has black background but didnt know the 5960r ever had that style. Assuming Patek made both versions is one newer? Also any thoughts on this model from past/present owners?
