Carl F. Bucherer’s Patravi EvoTec DayDate Gets an Update
In 2008 Carl F. Bucherer achieved Manufacture status with the introduction of the CFB A1000 automatic winding movement with a peripheral rotor that combines the technical values of the central rotor with the visual advantages of the micro-rotor. The EvoTec DayDate is now available in a cushion-shaped case with a new steel bezel. Find wallpaper and pricing inside. Beyond the peripheral rotor, the CFB A1000 caliber offers several other technical advances. The patented rotor mounting is assisted by DLC-coated rollers which are themselves mounted on ball bearings. The DLC coating provides a hardness exceeding 2,00 Vickers, which makes it several times harder than steel, the customary material used. The system requires no lubrication. The ball bearing/roller assemblies are mounted on rocking bars. Special springs allow highly accurate positioning of the rollers, and eccentrics ensure precise adjustment of the bars. A Dynamic Shock Absorption system prevents the holds the rotor in check even
Breitling Chronoliner Aviator Watch
I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it with my own eyes, but would you guess that Breitling - the company with its own jet team (and jet man) - is releasing a new pilot watch for 2015? I know, amazing and totally unexpected! All jesting aside, the new Breitling Chronoliner is a really decent-looking and not top-of-the-line-priced aviator watch that harkens back to the beauty and grace of Breitling's 1950s and 1960s design. It even comes complete with a "panda dial," so I think the Breitling Chronoliner is going to be a hit for the brand this year.At "just" 46mm wide, the polished steel-cased Breitling Chronoliner is a typical size for the brand these days. In my opinion, with its modestly-sized lugs and lack of crown guard, the Breitling Chronoliner ought to wear boldly but comfortably. Given Breitling's current style and demographic, 46mm in case diameter seems to be their sweet spot. And here, it is mixed with a vintage-style case complete with plunger chronograph pushers. What
The Real Reasons Watch Reviews Don't Talk (Much) About Accuracy
If you're curious about what accuracy actually is, and what it depends on, you may want to read our earlier story, "Accuracy: What Is It, And Does Anyone Actually Care?" JFWe've talked, now and again, about the subject of accuracy – what it is, what it means, how it's valued, and most recently, what it isn't as well. One question that always comes up when we raise the subject, however, is why you don't hear more about accuracy where you'd most expect to hear about it: in watch reviews. After all, car writers give you tons of performance information – why not watch writers? Why, therefore, don't watch reviews give you accuracy info in the same way that you get zero-to-sixty figures in a car review? There are a lot of reasons why you don't see actual performance figures for watches, in watch reviews; some of the obstacles are bigger than others, of course, but they all add up to the odds being stacked against it. The first reas

Interested in a Panerai
Hey guys, I've decided my next move will be to expand my collection outside of Rolex. I've settled on 3 pieces max, and would like one of those pieces to be a Panerai. I really don't know much about the various Panerai models so I figured here would be a good place to start. So far I have: Rolex GMT 16710 Coke bezel I would like:Breitling Superocean Heritage 42 black dial on rubber. Panerai??????A little about me: I'm pretty casual; jeans and t-shirt to work, casual athletic wear outside of work. I don't have a huge wrist, so I think the max size I could do is 45mm. I very rarely dress up, so dressy watches are not my taste. In terms of Panerai styling, I really enjoy painted numerals (vs sandwich) and gold hands. I'm not fussy on a glass case back, nor do I need a seconds hand or date (but don't mind either)I really enjoy the tobacco brown dials Panerai puts out but I would also be okay with a black dial. I would prefer automatic over manual wind but it's not a deal breaker. I already
