Omega Crawl With watches-dealer Was Fun With Watches Across Time
A few days before Christmas 2014, watches-dealer invited a group of Los Angeles watch lovers to visit the Beverly Center Omega watch boutique and then to Jackmond, a special store in Los Angeles started by Jack Khorsandi and dedicated to displaying, servicing, collecting, buying, and selling vintage Omega timepieces. Then, after some deep watch appreciation, whiskey (thanks to Jack), and lots of conversation, we headed nearby for a private dinner. One of the most interesting things we saw at the Omega boutique was an early presentation of their new "antimagnetic test." With the debut and increasing proliferation of Master Co-Axial with its anti-magnetic movement, Omega realizes that many of its customers aren't quite sure why magnetism is so harmful to mechanical watch movements, and just how easily even the smallest magnets can effect a mechanical watch movement. The test showed how small, common everyday magnets could not only stop a traditional watch, but permanently (and dramaticall
Anyone else feel that the stem/crown is too flimsy?
I have an ss diver and 44 steel and both stems/crowns feel extremely flimsy and fragile when I pull them out to set the time... Almost like the stem is way too thin and the crown is barely attached to it. Anyone else feels the same way? Feels a bit too fragile to me... None of my other watches feel like this on the stem/crown.
5167 winding question
I was setting the date and when I went to wind the watch to power the reserve, I noticed that there were several moments when there was no resistance at all. The crown would just spin without the usual grinding sound that indicates it is winding. It would just turn, silently, without any resistance. I have a few months on the warranty... should I take it is or is this normal? Thanks, gents, for any insight.
PAM leather straps - maintenance
After wearing your beloved PAM with the leather straps, be it the original leather strap from PAM or from other strap makers - what do you do to maintain it?So far, I have just wipe it with a damp cloth. Is there anything else that I could do?
In a Pickle: Is a Tudor BB Necessary?
Hey guys, in a bit of a pickle right now and was hoping you guys could assist me with my conundrum. For some reason, I have been slowly gravitating towards a Tudor BB. The problem is, I already have a sub no date. This is a two part (maybe three) question.1. Is the BB a good compliment to the sub or is it too similar that i should just find another piece instead2. I found a good priced in house (not interested in the ETA variant) Tudor BB with the black bezel and faux aged lume BNIB but.... you remember when I said I was gravitating towards a Tudor BB? Well the model I've been lusting after is actually the one with the blue bezel and leather strap. I can't seem to find this one for a good price though. Should I suck it up and buy the pretty well priced brand new Black Bay w/ Black Bezel or is that just WAY too similar to the sub?3. This might have my thread removed, but can anyone recommend a good AD? I've been searching high and low but no luck in finding a good prices for the Blue var
