Motorola Moto 360 Watch Debuts Google 'Android Wear' OS: The Smartwatch For Everyone Is Here
Well everyone, Google is officially in the smartwatch business with the Motorola Moto 360 and the new Android Wear operating system. Last year, the men and women from Mountain View announced that a smartphone-oriented operating system was being developed specifically for smartwatches after rumors were being thrown around for quite some time. The OS will be called "Android-Wear" and it was now announced at the same time Google-owned Motorola debuted the upcoming Moto 360 Smartwatch. Likely to beat the release of an Apple iWatch device, the Moto 360 will be available for sale in 2014 and for many is the smartwatch they have been waiting for. This comes about a year after many industry insiders even doubted the future viability of the smartwatch industry. About 15 months ago, I knew this was inevitable and even proclaimed as much in a post discussing what an iWatch would be like.An Evolved Wearable Operating System For SmartwatchesThere are really two separate topics that need to be discu
Have Expensive Watch, Looking For Love
Yes, you're always going to get gold diggers, he shrugs, adjusting the strap on his Cartier. But that's the risk you take. This quote ends a rather interesting cultural piece in the New York Post that recently discussed how men in New York buy and wear watches to impress the ladies. "Meet the Rolex Romeos" profiles a selection of disparate guys who each feel that an expensive watch is the best way to lure in the gals. A Maserati only goes as far as the parking lot, but a watch you have with you all the time. That makes sense, and it is well-known that watches are among the most noticeable things a guy can wear. For high-end watch enthusiasts talking about wearing diamond-studded watches to merely attract female attention is a bit sacrilegious. Though we can't deny that a little attention is a good thing. These guys are all discussing watches priced $10,000 and over, and how they wear them while going out. One guy admits to waving his wrist outside of his Lexus while cruising in New
Fois 2017
It has been nearly 5 years since the watch was released after Baselworld 2012. A lot of what Omega are planning for the 60th of the speedy moonwatch has been discussed and speculated over the last few months.I was wondering if anything will be announced for the FOIS for 2017. Last year's CK2998 was a limited edition so was not readily available. I would love to see a similar colour change for the current FOIS. So discontinue the black dial and bring out another numbered version of the panda with the white dial would be my perfect watch. This could make it a decent and viable option for those seeking a smaller speedy but don't want to go down the racing/reduced route.
Help me decide: P.O. 42 vs. SMP 2054.50
I am flip flopping every few minutes on this. The Planet Ocean 42 is my favorite watch but I can't seen to find a 2201.50 for sale at a reasonable price ($2500 budget). Meanwhile there are several 2054.50's available right now for just north of $1500. Should I just get the SMP and be done with all this?
Speedy Pro. Meteorite
I recently had the pleasure of handling an Omega LE Apollo/Soyuz Speedmaster Meteorite dial. From what I could see through the protective plastic on the dial, it looks AMAZING !The price was amazing too, $9350. Canadian, with no wiggle room, higher than I expected, twice as much as a basic MOTM. I did a search and found the information limited, no pun intended.I love this Speedy, my new grail perhaps, and am wondering what the thoughts are on this particular LE, my search results led me to believe that resale on the LE's left a lot to be desired. (except for the Snoopy's)Thanks in advance, Mark.
