For years Christophe Claret labored in relative obscurity creating horological masterpieces sold under the names of others. To date he has devised and executed 68 unique complicated movements. In 2009, the man behind the curtain released the first timepiece widely marketed under his own name. Following the “bravos”, Claret is launching a second piece bearing his name. His encore is called Adagio. The Adagio features central hour and minute hands, small seconds at 9 o'clock in a window or subdial, depending on the versions, along with a large date at 6 o'clock and a dual time-zone (hours and minutes) display complete with day/night indication in a subdial at 2 o'clock.This timepiece is equipped with Calibre SLB88, naturally created entirely in house, composed of 455 parts and measuring 34mm in diameter. MB&F HM4 Piece Unique For The Only Watch 2011 Auction
Just as they did in 2009, MB&F will participate in the 2011 Only Watch charity auction to be held in Monaco this September. The event is an auction for unique watches only, with proceedings going to help fund research for a particularly nasty type of disease that affects children. Instead of just changing a color or small style element, MB&F prefers to donate a true piece of art.For the 2009 Only Watch event MB&F worked with artist Sage Vaughn on a piece unique based on the HM2. This latter piece focused on the crippling nature of the disease and was a beautiful, but dark piece that had barbed wire entangling the movement. Model Identification Help
I have an old Seamaster that's been in the family for a few decades. The crown has fallen off and have no idea what part it might need. I suspect a new stem is required among other things. Sounds like the rotor is rattling around in there too. LV-C Vs SD-C
Alright help me out here please. I never asked something like that here because I usually make up my own mind but this time is a bit different. I need to aim at something for the (near?) future and the options I can see are the LV-C and the SD-C, specially because glidelock + longer clasp is something very important to me.I already have two ceramic Submariners so If I get the LV-C I would have 3 Subs, and if I get the SD-C I would have 3 black divers that look the same. I know both choices are reduntant and Im fine with that. There are pros and cons on both. About the cons, the LV-C is perhaps too much green, and the SD-C is way too expensive but if I wait patiently I believe I'll be able to get one for something around 9.5K in the future.The 5 digit Subs would be a great choice but removing a permanent link is out of question for me.The third option would be forget about that and use the money for something else, but that option is the most difficult one to accept.Thanks everyone.
