A Week On The Wrist: The Calibre de Cartier Chronograph
I’ll begin by saying this: Cartier deserves your respect. In fact, I would say that Cartier is one of three Richemont-owned watchmakers that are pushing things forward in a major way yet do not receive the mass approval of horological enthusiasts because of historical positioning (the other two being Piaget – just wait 'til you see what they plan to announce on December 5th – and Montblanc, who is slowly but surely converting more than a few purists). Cartier is an impressive company, and one that I think will be a true force in the high-end watchmaking world for years to come, and it’s about time people wake up to just what Cartier is doing. Now I don’t want to pretend for a second that Cartier is deserving of any pity or sympathy. I it’s not like I’m comparing Cartier to someone like Laurent Ferrier, Roger Smith, or the Grönefelds (all three also deserving of more praise for what they do) because that would be foolish. Cartier is a ve
Here's what I find strange about AP...
I'm now lucky enough to own my grail watch - the Royal Oak 15400 with blue dial, truly a fantastic piece which I can't stop looking at. However, although I have tremendous respect for AP, their history and what they stand for, there is no other AP watch that I really desire to own. The Offshore line especially I find ostentatious and often downright unpleasant in terms of design. It seems bizarre to me that the team of people that produce the elegant beauty of the RO can also produce some of those blingy Offshore monstrosities!Of course it's not quite as simple as that, I do love watches like the 15202, but I have a limited budget so it would make no sense to me to buy that when I already own the 15400. Similarly I admire the ROC, but I'm not a great chrono user so for me it really just reduces the desirable simplicity of the classic three hand RO.Rolex on the other hand is a brand I greatly admire, but don't really love (partly because of their often crass marketing, partly because of

Need trade advice: Rolex for Patek
All, I'm looking to acquire a Patek Aquanaut BNIB. I can trade for it with the following watches.Daytona Ceramic plus Explorer (newer model 2016) = even tradeOr, BLNR, SUB-C date, and Explorer (newer model 2016) + 3K.I've owned an Aquanaut in the past and regret selling it so know what I'm getting. Given the options above, which trade would you do? BTW, I love all the watches I just don't want to come out of pocket on the Patek. Thanks in advance for the advice. This is a tough decision for me.
