Dubey & Schaldenbrand Returns to America with New Collection
Dubey & Schaldenbrand, the boutique Swiss watch brand founded by Georges Dubey and Rene Schaldenbrand in 1946 and known for its art deco design, has announced its return to North America in 2012. Owner Jonatan Gil, who bought the company in 2009, has established Dubey & Schaldenbrand Americas, which will distribute the brand in the U.S. and Canada. The Dubey & Schaldenbrand Americas team is made up of members of the Daaboul family; father Maurice, son Christopher and daughter La. Maurice Daaboul is a 30-year veteran of the watch and jewelry industry and has been an international overseas distributor for brands such as Universal Genve, Breitling, Favre Leuba, Fortis, and Eterna. Christopher Daaboul, director of sales and marketing, explained how the collaboration came about: Dubey & Schaldenbrand Americas, Inc. began when a mutual Swiss family friend put us in touch with the Gil family, who had been looking for a knowledgeable, ambitious, and long-term oriented team to
5712 craziness

US Pricing 5130P and 5170G
I am in USA and looking forward to the 20% plus discounts that everyone seems to be getting from their AD's. Whilst not looking for anything specific two nice to have opportunities cropped up with an AD offering the above at $45000 and $60000. Both discontinued and I reckon preowned in the $35000 and $45 000 range. Does any body know of better prices as I am not that familiar with US pricing. The AD is not moving on this but I am a terrible negotiator. It would be helpful if the replies could be fact based on experience rather than the plethora of anecdotal suggestions that will undoubtedly follow. Cheers
Patek 5712 as next watch???
Hi, thinking of purchasing 5712 SS as a next watch (debating against 5711). Currently own a Daytona. Would like to hear some feedback from actual owners in regards to watch in generaL ( certain likes and dislikes). Is it anymore delicate than a Daytona in regards to scratches?Have not tried on the watch yet but definitely will. What kind of discount have some you received that purchased the piece in the US from AD?Thanks for all the feedback
Help me save/spend $$ for new watch
Hi All,Was drooling my candy store (AD) today and my sweet tooth decided I needed a goal & reward to help me towards a personal milestone. This will take some time so no quick incoming pics. Roman numerals were my starting point into the luxury watch world 15 yrs. ago and it was traded; new one will be my lifetime watch. So envision OLD woman. I’m asking for opinions! I currently own the LVc which will also be a lifer. The DJ choc. dial RG/SS will become my daughter’s in the future for one of her milestones (could be 6, 8 or 15 yrs). So, I will happily wear it till then. Pictured below are: 31mm datejust, and 34mm Tudor Claire de Rose. Didn’t know how to create a poll so weigh in as you wish. Thanks to all my fellow enablers!!
