SIHH 2015: Piaget Presents the World’s Thinnest Hand-Wound Chronograph (Updated with Live Photo and Price)
Piaget watches have long been renowned for their elegant thinness, and the brand has set numerous watch-world thinness records with its releases of recent years. The new Piaget Altiplano Chronograph, which debuted this week at SIHH 2015 sets another one, for world’s thinnest hand-wound flyback chronograph. The Piaget Altiplano Chronograph actually sets two new slimness records, both for the movement (just 4.65 mm thick) and the case (a wafer-like 8.24 mm). Piaget has created 25 in-house movements that it considers “ultra-thin,” with 14 of them holding world records in their category. This latest is Caliber 883P, based on Piaget’s 880P, the thinnest automatic movement on the market. Two years of development went into its creation, and the finished movement boasts unprecedented thinness in several key components, including the cannon-pinion (.12 mm), barrel staff (.115 mm), and chronograph gear finger (.06 mm). A Riddle and an Update
When can a speck the size of a grain of sand stop the presses at ? When it materializes in the editor’s kidney. So begins the story of my ill-fated trip to Baselworld 2010. I arrived at Zurich airport on March 16 feeling pretty well, but by the time I had my train tickets, the stabbing pain had started. A doctor visited a few hours later at my hotel in Germany. He dispensed some pain medication and I hoped for the best, but the next morning things were worse. I ended up spending about 5 days in a German hospital where I received excellent care: in all about 15 x-rays, 4 or 5 sonograms (three administered by specialist doctors), and a CT scan, plus several visits each day and night from nurses, and plenty of medication. I generally felt the center of attention. Test results were consistently reported within a few hours. Without getting into politics, I appreciated the opportunity to experience a European health care system first hand while the health care debate raged back home. O

So what do you guys think of this new release? I like the current RG/black dial as well but have already a couple of all RG watches. Think all YG with a blue dial would pop!
Not again!
First off, I love my 5167a Aquanaut for all the reasons Aquanaut owners rave about. It also runs with amazing accuracy to within 1 second per day. But today it went in for service - 20 weeks expected turnaround time - for the second time for sticking date. First time was at 17 months from new and under warranty, this time at the 11th month after the first fix and fortunately just under the 1 year service/repair warranty...Has anybody had the sticking date problem twice? Just curious. Looking on the bright side, will give some of my other watches more wrist time.
116610LN retail vs grey
hi gang,I started window shopping for an 116610LN about a year ago. In that time, I have watched grey dealer prices on LNIB 116610LN go from ~$7500 to $8500, pretty close to MSRP.Was there ever a time when grey dealers sold LNIB for significantly less than MSRP on the 116610LN?
