Los Angeles is the first US city with a dedicated Patek Philippe brand boutique store (previously discussed here), and I got a chance to check it out recently. Inside The Manufacture: A Look At A. Lange & S?hne's Balance Cock Engraving
Did you know that literally every single A. Lange & Söhne timepiece is unique? It's true, and that is because each timepiece that comes out of the Glashütte manufacture features one component (at minimum) that is hand engraved – the balance-cock. 1 OF 4 The engraving of the balance-cock dates back to the early 20th century when Lange was buiding superlative quality "1A" pocketwatches. When the brand relaunched in the early 90s, it just made sense to continue on with one of Lange's greatest traditions. So, within the halls of the Lange manufacture exists a small group of six engravers that individually sculpt the balance cock via a set of specially created tools. Alternative bands with Seamasters?
I'd like to see some pics of seamasters with aftermarket bands that people like. I'm pretty new to the watch thing, and I plan on getting a Seamaster GMT as my first automatic watch. The NATO bands seem to be popular. Any other suggestions for different bands? I'll work up to a Rolex in a few years. My conscience won't let me buy a Rolex until my house is payed off in a couple of years. I thought I might start with an Omega, and learn about Rolex over the next few years.david

Just picked this up today from my local AD in Santa Monica. Friend did me a favor and was able to get me it. Absolutely love it! Goes perfectly with my bluesy and white RO.
