First AP Inbound: Bracelet Sizing Tips 15400
Hey guys,After thinking about adding an AP to the collection for over three years, I finally decided to take the plunge.I have a new 15400 inbound this morning and the only thing I am uncertain about is the process of sizing the bracelet. I am 100% comfortable working on my Rolex bracelets and PAM straps, etc. So any tips you guys can provide for how to take a few links out would be greatly appreciated. More specifically...1) What is the correct size screwdriver? I am thinking 1.42) Can someone describe the method of attachment in greater detail? Is it a single screw style pin (like an oyster bracelet) or is it a two-part pin with screw heads on both ends that requires two screwdrivers?3) With a new Rolex, I will usually gently heat the bracelet under very hot water to loosen any factory loctite, etc and it works like a charm. Will that technique be sufficient here? And finally, any other tips/tricks you guys can offer I would be most appreciative of. Like I said, I am comfortable with
Rolex VS Patek
I often hear people saying that Patek, or AP are better watches then Rolex. Why is that? I know there are made a lot less Patek's then Rolex's and that in general a patek is more expensive then a Rolex. I also know that Patek got lot's of watches with more complications then a Rolex. But as fare as I know that is more or less it.I do not know who got the best movements wean it comes to toughness and durability of the brands. Anyone know this? I would guess that if Rolex does not got the best they are very close. But I do know that most Rolex's are more water proof then most Patek's, I know Rolex use 904L steel, while patek use 316L. I know Rolex got everose gold, while Patek just got rosegold. So from my point of view it seems like a Rolex, will withstand the test of time and daily use better then a Patek? And for me that is what is important. The price, the amount of watches produced is not of great importance to me. Neither are the complications. I only really need date and time, th
Impure thoughts...
I struggled hard to overcome the voices in my head daring me to run out the door clutching these treasures at the Christie's viewing in Hong Kong...PP5016PPP5207G and 5074JLuckily, I am far too honest (and I hear Chinese jails aren't very good!), so I satisfied myself listening to the musical chimes before handing them back to the auctioneers...MW

Buying YG - so 16618 or 116618?
Both have design elements I like - and dislike. Hard to sanction which one. I shall choose one, though. :)Images by Ocrolexguy.
