How a Patek Philippe Watch Dial Is Made
Interesting little article..bloomberg/news/2014-1...p-by-step.html
Selling my ap 15202 for PP 5980/1a?
I have been thinking of pulling the trigger on the 5980/1a for sometime now, will have to sell A watch to fund my PP chrono, i was going to part with my Pam 233 gmt, but then realized it will be more likely taking a hit on the second hand market. Should I sell my ap 15202 instead? Jumbo does get some wrist time and I love it, but not the same love I have for the 5980/1a. What do you guys think?
Favorite Complications in Category
A thread to discuss the merits of those Complications we like the best.Remember there are no winners and there certainly are no losers.Just a discussion of which Complications we like and why.Pictures are a must whenever possible, remember it's awfully hard to discuss the beauty of something without a picture. There are 31 models in this category, as such I actually have more than just one which I like. From the Patek Phillipe website:Complicated Watches A supreme test of ingenuityA 'complication' in watchmaking is anything a mechanical watch might do beyond telling the time and simple date. Patek Philippe upholds a tradition in complications that are useful in everyday situations, such as Annual Calendars, dual time zones and World Time displays. At Patek Philippe, we enjoy unrivalled expertise in our knowledge and practice of this pinnacle of the watchmaker's art.
Which would you buy first (Daytona or DD)?
As I narrow down to my top two favorites, I think over the next few years I'd like to buy a Platinum DD (36mm) and WG Daytona with the blue dial. It looks like an older Plt DD can be purchased for about the same price as the relatively new Daytona right now. So, outside of personal preference, is there a reason to chose one over the other right now, with the assumption that I'll buy the other one in a few years? For what its worth, I'll probably never feel comfortable paying full retail for a brand new platinum DD.
