It was only in November of last year that Blancpain opened the doors to its first London flagship boutique on Bond Street, situated in the heart of London’s Mayfair area. Even though it is comparably small to some of its neighbors at 43 square meters, the two-level boutique is filled with heritage and tradition and offers a very genuine and authentic experience of Blancpain wristwatches. 1 OF 47 The concept behind the design is that the interior should express the spirit of the traditional watchmakers workshops. Hands-On: The Piaget Limelight Stella
Last week Jack wrote about the new Piaget Emperador Coussin XL 700P, Piaget’s major new release at SIHH 2016. In addition to this crazy skeletonized hybrid electromechanical watch, Piaget released some major women’s watches as well. The brand is actually better-known for its women’s watches and made a name for its high jewelry watches starting in the 1960s (see my article on Piaget cuff watches). For SIHH this year, Piaget released the Limelight Stella with moon phase, which is the most complicated in-house-designed women’s watch ever made in the brand’s history. 1 OF 9 The Limelight Stella features a new caliber 584P that Piaget tells us is entirely designed and made completely in-house, with another caliber (580P) designed for the haute joaillerie version that does not have center seconds, in order to show off the diamond-setting. Omega no longer uses red dot on caseback
Just an FYI - just picked up a new Omega Seamaster 300M (Spectre LE version), noticed that the red dot to prove the case back had not been opened was absent.Called the AD (Omega Boutique) they confirmed that in the last month or so now they have stopped using this method and use a microscope to inspect if case has been opened.
