Hands-On with the Padron Selby
A couple of years ago, we put a piece together about Padron Watch Company, a one-man show out of Minneapolis. Leo Padron, said one-man, welcomed us into his watch making studio, where he designs and assembles his line of affordable and unique watches (yes, he's a watch maker). It's worth a read to learn a bit more about the man and his brand. At the time, he was just finishing up a successful Kickstarter campaign for his Tessera timepieces, one of several such projects. Now, he is currently at the end of yet another successful campaign for an update to the Tessera, named the Selby.What caught my about this watch, all of Padron's watches for that matter, was that it's totally his own vision. His watches are unique and almost bizarre, and while not for everyone, have an undeniable charm. Anyone with XL Diver strap on watch in Philly area (or NYC/Jersey)?
Somewhat of a strange request, but I'm wondering if anyone has the XL Diver strap on a 42mm ROO, is located near me, and wouldn't mind meeting up so I could check out the fitment. (I'll happily buy you a drink or something!) I'm considering getting the XL strap, but AP won't let me actually try on the strap without purchasing it first. (I don't have too much posting experience on here but I have about 1000 posts on TZ with the same nick.) The Philly area would be most convenient but I'd happily meet up in NYC or somewhere in Jersey. Meet up, chat about watches, and let me try on your XL strap? Figured it couldn't hurt to ask!

Had the day off today and went window shopping with the missus - just wandering aimlessly and ended up at the AP boutique.Been thinking for a long while about a new addition and the Royal Oak kept popping up as a potential contender after seeing all the amazing pics and posts recently.I really wanted to see the blue and black dial but alas they didn't have any in stock, so I tried on the white (15400st.oo.1220st.02). Given that I have a puny 6.5 inch wrist, I was concerned about the size of the watch, the fit and how it looked. The missus took these pics and I didn't check it before leaving so they may not be the best shots.Your opinions please.

Funny Omega stories?
Ok, this started out as a question: Which Omega to wear on your motorcycle? I notice there seem to be, from the looks of the avitars, a number of riders (er, motorcyclists) out there. I would be worried about losing my baby if I were to wear any of my meager collection (2!). Any war stories about how your favorite sidekick holds up to The Ride? Any war stories about travels with your sidekick? *love 'em all, but Ducati and Triumph are my favs-Motorcyclist, hopefully returning to the fold soon

5711 vs 5712 blue - different?
Does anyone own both watches or have seen both at the same time? I saw a 5712 in person a while back and thought that the dial was more grey blue (rather than pure blue) than I thought it would be, even under lighting. However, yesterday someone showed me their 5711 in person and the blue looked absolutely amazing, even better than all the pictures I've seen on here.Are the blues on these two just different? Or maybe just my eyes playing tricks
