Introducing: The New Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer, Now With Chromalight Display, Updated Hands, And Superlative Chronometer Certification
With habitual punctuality, Rolex unveiled their entire 2016 lineup on Press Day at exactly 12 p.m. As ever, it features many of the company’s classic models, updated with novel features. However, they also introduced some big surprises, such as a stainless steel Daytona with black ceramic bezel and an Oyster Perpetual Explorer with Chomalight display. 1 OF 3 The watch pictured above here is not a customized Rolex. Far from it. It's the latest Explorer which now comes with a new luminescent material inside the model’s familiar 3, 6, and 9 numerals as well as in the hour markers. Called Chromalight, this exclusive material emits an intense blue glow, which increases the legibility of the dial significantly in low light conditions. 2 OF 3 Rolex has also revisited the hour and minute hands. I usually don't make incoming threads but I feel that this watch is special enough to make one to share with the Rolex folks as well:Like the title says, Snoopy has landed finally today (well yesterday to be exact but I had no time to pick up yesterday). Took a little time off work during work to make the drive down to Fashion Valley Omega Boutique to pick up this beauty. It was refreshing since I've been on a Rolex kick lately and forgot how much better the Omega Boutiques treat you compared to Rolex ADs. Big shout out and thank you to the guys who made this possible there (Robert/Jonathan). I inquired on the piece since September 2015 and was officially moved on to the allocated list in November 2015. I can say to all those still waiting the wait is worth every second and then some.
