Oris Williams F1 Team Day Date Watch For 2010
Continuing their partnership with the Williams F1 team, Oris has released a new motor sport watch for 2010 that is likely the nicest yet when it comes to a watch made for Williams. This is at least the fourth watch to come from the partnership, and it looks really nice in mostly black with a technical looking blue trim. Oris is further refining the dial design, offering a fascinating, yet polished look. The case itself is 44mm wide in DLC black. Notice the thin blue line that extends around the periphery of the side of the case. It is a neat little detail helping the case of the watch to stand out. The colors are also of course those of the Williams team. The little blue line is actually rubber, and Oris says it acts like a bumper to protect the case (a bit). Though with the DLC coating, it shouldn't need as much protection. The case of course has the special hinged lugs that help the watch be really comfortable, and comfortable it most certainly is. The numerals on the bezel flow natur
Found: A Patek Philippe 3448 White Gold At Sotheby's New York (Or Is It A 3450 Yellow Gold?) C T
The reference 3448 has always been one of my favorite vintage references. There is something so refreshing about the razor sharps lugs (when the case hasn't been polished) and the simple dial layout with. So when I heard about a very special 3448 coming up at Sotheby's, I had to go see it in person. What you are about to see is something you have likely never encountered before – a Patek Philippe reference 3448 in white gold, with a later yellow-gold reference 3450 case as a back up. Say hello to a convertible Patek Philippe. 1 OF 5 This reference 3448 white gold is accompanied by an entirely different case, dial, hand-set, and crown C all in yellow gold. That's right, you read that correctly. This watch, coming up for auction at Sotheby's in New York tomorrow, was born a white-gold 3448 in 1966 and was purchased by the original owner in 1967. Then later in 1986, the owner decided that he would really like a yellow gold version, so he wrote to P
Thoughts about the Dark Side of The Moon
Been toying with the idea of trading in a GMT IIC along with some cash to acquire the Omega preowned. The one thing I wish the DSOTM would have is the super luminova on the tachometer bezel like the Grey Side of the Moon version. I'm not sure if newer revisions will include this or if it would be an easy upgrade by swapping out the bezel if it ever does come out.In regards to the GMT IIC, love the watch but its been sitting in the safe ever since I got a Daytona ref 116509. Plan on getting the BLRO version of the GMT when it starts hitting the preowned market in a few years.Just curious as to what some viewpoints are. Thanks and have a great New Year.
New Planet Ocean
Hi. At last my new Planet Ocean Non Chrono photos I've been working on since Monday. It the 45.5 mm size and has the new Cal 8500 movement. In my opinion a much more managable size than the skyscraper the new Chrono seems to be. Alan
Omega Aqua Terra GMT chronograph
Just received in trade a new addition to the collection. This 44mm Omega is the most complicated watch that I own...hours, minutes, seconds, GMT, chronograph plus a bidirectional rotating bezel and screw-down crown. It feels like a Planet Ocean XL 45.5mm on the wristLater today, I will visit an Omega AD in search of an Aqua Terra bracelet.Meanwhile, I stashed the alligator strap the watch was supplied with and installed a Planet Ocean XL black rubber strap.
