How much did you lose on average?
Not particularly related to Patek...Since I switched from quartz to mechanical watches back in the summer of 2012 (now about 5 years), I have lost about 20 percent of what I invested so far by flipping watches. Which is on average about 4 percent per year.I calculate it as follows: amount spent on mechanical watches minus amount recuperated from selling some of them (ignoring depreciation or appreciation of the watches currently owned but also ignoring inflation or deflation of money).Using this calculation, how much did you lose so far in percentage? Curious to know what people in general lose over a longer period of time (5+ years). Please exclude non-mechanical watches (e.g. Fitbit, Apple Watch, Casio).CheersV.

Do people really feel this way about the 5167? When will you ever be "good enough?"
I was enjoying my morning coffee and came across this listing that rubbed me the wrong way: (I think the image should load.)This type of attitude is toxic, is it not? With this mentality, when will your watch be good enough? I remember trying on my first Aquanaut and looking at the beautiful gold rotor and dial. Owning an aquanaut is something that is truly exclusive, rare and in my opinion certainly not to be scoffed at. In what real-life circle will someone feel this way? According to this gentleman, I should be ashamed of aquanaut ownership? Is there an 'aquanaut' stigma that I was unaware of? Apply this principal to any material goods, is it even possible to be happy with what you have? There is always something more expensive and 'better.' Personally, I'm going to just be happy to have the fine timepieces I have and maybe, just maybe, one day I can own a Patek that isn't looked down upon.

any thoughts on the 512 , 513 or 337?
I mostly wear Rolex but did buy a Pam 104 this year. I liked the look of the watch but sold it b/c it was a bit too big and bulky for me. 42m is about my limit for my wardrobe and the way I dress.I need something on a strap and with rolex the options are pretty limited.Anyone have any thoughts on the Pam 512, 513 or 337? looking at the Panerai site those appear to be smaller and thinner. I like the look of all three of themAny thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I plan on going to the Panerai boutique and trying them on this week.

Hello all! Hoping for a bit of insight from some of the more experienced TRFers. I called around a few AD's as soon as they opened on Wednesday morning in what I thought would be a futile attempt to get on a list for the new SS gmt pepsi. Most told me that they could take my name and phone number, but could not commit to anything further. However, one AD said they needed to talk to the manager and would call me back. No more than 20 mins later I got a call from them saying that I am now #4 on the list. Understandably, they could not give me a time frame.My question to you all is simply this: what does that really mean? Fourth sounds pretty high up there to me, but I have to assume that all of their big time customers would get priority. So could #4 on the list still mean a 1-2 year wait or more?For further context, I live in LA and have never purchased from this dealer before.
