SIHH 2016: Here Are the New Watches We’ve Seen So Far
The 26th annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) kicks off tomorrow at Geneva’s Palexpo center. While we at WatchTime eagerly await the unveiling of new watches at the fair which this year includes more exhibiting brands than ever before we offer here a glimpse of some of timepieces that we’ve seen in advance. Click on the links to learn more about them.Audemars Piguet goes for what many would consider old-school horological luxury with this new version of its Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in classical yellow gold. The watch, powered by in-house Caliber 2120 and boasting a deep blue Grande Tapisserie-patterned dial, joins its predecessors in rose gold and steel.Baume & Mercier expands its recently introduced Clifton gents’ collection inspired by a historical 1950s model with that family’s most complicated watch to date, the Baume & Mercier Clifton Chronograph Complete Calendar, which combines two functions from previous models.&nb
Romain Jerome Eyjafjallaj?kull-DNA Unique Piece
Before the dust has settled, so to speak, Romain Jerome introduces the Eyjafjallaj?kull-DNA, a unique-piece memento of the eruption that tortured air travelers and newsreaders the world over. The piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity confirming that the volcanic rock and the ash used to create it do indeed come from the infamous volcano. No word on whether delivery of the piece from Geneva may be delayed due to airport closures. Click below for a video of the Eyjafjallaj?kull-DNA Unique Piece…

How many times do you need to wind the crown on the Speedmaster Moon Watch?
Forgive my ignorance, but I need to ask a few relatively simple questions:How many times do you need to wind the crown on the Speedmaster (moon watch) to get it to full power reserve? Also, is there some type of indicator that you're now full? Either a clicking sound, greater resistance, etc.?Do you wind your watch every night, or every morning?
I'm sick of waiting....
I'm sick of waiting for Rolex to release a SS Pepsi, but I'd take a SS Coke if they release one at Basel this year. I was hoping they'd release it last year, but when they didn't, I bought a new BLNR to hold me over.My grail is the BLRO so I'm seriously considering trading the BLNR in on a BLRO if an SS version isn't announced at Basel.Anyone else feel the same way?
