Glycine Incursore Black Jack Small Seconds: Great Looking Watch, Missed The Cards Playing Reference
I can always count on Glycine to present respectable looking watches. With a long history of pilot's watches, and some great diving watches (the Lagunare line), there is always an inherent "active" look to their watches. On top of that, Glycine is good about releasing new watches with regularity and this Basel World is no different. My choice from their new selection is the Glycine Incursore Black Jack Small Seconds. The Incursore line of watches all share similar faces and numbering. With a look a lot like Panerai, Glycine is not presenting a copy but its own interpretation of the theme. Glycine is a Swiss watch maker, not Italian like Panerai, but the name "Incursore" is Italian and comes from the military "Frogmen" that engaged frequently during World War II. Panerai watches were originally designed for the same purposes. That being high legibility in dark and wet conditions while being stealthy and solid. That is the purpose behind the large, well-spaced numerals and hour indicators

Yet another trip to the AD
Just returned from an AD in Norfolk, VA. I was looking for the YM 40 with the Rhodium dial. Did not have one at any of their 12 locations. I really didnt think this watch was on the Oh My God cant find one list. I was told that while the Ceramic Daytonas are still at the top of the cant get one list in addition to the Batmans and Hulks and so forth the YM is now very hard to get and there are waiting lists. Anyone heard of this?FYI they did have a lot of SS DJs (all sizes) a couple of Milgause and a few Explorers in stock. I tried on the RG YM on the oysterflex. VERY nice!!
SD43 Incoming!
I put down a 20% deposit at my local AD and was told to expect a 2-3 month wait. However, two weeks later on Super Bowl Sunday (of all days), I just received the call that my new SD43 (Red-Sea) is now awaiting my arrival.
