William Shatner Passage Watch By Egard
Egard is a brand I'm very familiar with, as I've reviewed a good number of their watches over the last year or two, and have had the opportunity to see their designs improve and mature. ?William Shatner is also someone I'm very familiar with, as my earliest SciFi memories are from watching reruns of Star Trek with my dad. ?For the past year, Shatner has worked with Egard's founder, Ilan Srulovicz to create a timepiece that's out of this world - the Passages. Were it not for Shatner's involvement in this particular model, this is a watch that would still, definitely, make me take notice. ?You can't help but have your eye caught by the interestingly shaped case (officially, it measures in at 45mm). ?What makes this particular case more of a technical feat isn't readily apparent - the domed sapphire crystal. ?As you might imagine, combining that case shape with a domed sapphire was no small feat - and it's something I'm looking forward to checking out in person one day.Under that domed cry
A Week On The Wrist: The New Tudor Heritage Black Bay Black Reference 79220N, By John Mayer
Today, with the release of the Black Bay Black, Tudor has launched the third variant in its Black Bay Heritage collection, and it’s one that seats itself firmly in the center of the highly successful line of “heritage” pieces. Since the burgundy bezel version of this watch was covered so well and in-depth earlier this year by Jack Forster, I’ll fly over some of the points he detailed with some basics. 1 OF 25 Here’s what I’ve told everyone who asked me what was on my wrist over the past week, and it’s the main thrust of this column: for just over $3,000, you can be a watch guy with the best of them. The Heritage Black Bay, though not based entirely on any one reference number, is a loving homage to Tudor dive watches of the past, and by association, to Rolex Submariners, from which Tudor originally took its DNA. And while the burgundy (and later a blue bezel) version were impressive throwbacks to a bygone era of watch desig
Smp gmt
I read in a thread on the main board that some people seem to take issue with the GMT function in Omegas. Do other people find that this is case? And if so what is the issue?I am hoping that one of these watches finds its way to my wrist for the upcoming holidays. Thanks in advance.
PP Serial Number?
Hi guys, my insurance company is asking for the serial number on my 5960. I assume it's on the certificate of origin? I thought it would be the mouvement number but my insurance say it is not. Can you help? Thanks in advance!
Patek for ladies?
OK, this is the problem - my spouse has the eye for the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Luce which I was thinking of getting for her but after doing some research, i realised that firstly, it runs on Quartz movement and secondly, it comes with a rubber strap, and of course, it cost a hefty US$13K at least. Is it worth the money at all?? From a watch lover point of view, it doesn't really make alot of sense to pay so much for a quartz watch with rubber strap. I know Patek typically hold value really well but does it apply to the ladies range as well? I'm afraid it's like the Rolex Cellini range where it's nice and expensive but does not hold value well. And quartz... so far, my experience with Quartz watches has been rather dismal. The battery inevitably leaks after a while and a overhaul, which i imagine would cost the price of a rolex, would be required. Then again, I do not have any experiences with Patek ladies watch and hence appreciate any advice.
