In case you haven’t noticed, blue is the hot color in the watch world, recently appearing all across the horological spectrum on dials, bezels, straps, et cetera. Recently, Girard-Perregaux reminded us that its founder, Jean-Francois Bautte, was one of the first watchmakers to incorporate the color into his timepieces. Fittingly, the brand has honored Bautte’s contributions to today’s watch-design trend by adding two new watches with blue dials and straps to its two vintage-inspired flagship collections, the 1966 and 1945 XXL.The new Girard-Perregaux 1966 watch features a slightly dome-shaped dial in a deep blue hue and enhanced by a subtle sunburst pattern. Echoing the style of the year for which the watch is named, its dial has gilted, baton-shaped hour markers at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, a double marker at 12 o’clock, and a small date window at 3 o’clock. Entering the World of AP and need advise....
Hey guys hope everyone here is well...Ive been a collector now for many years and wanted to pick the brains of you the experts with regards to AP...My collection so far includes Omega (Seamaster and SpeedyPro) Rolex (Vintage GMT 16750, 1680 Red, WG Sub Smurf and WG SkyDweller) and a Patek Philippe 5980R... Ive been after the Patek World Time Enamel dial 5131R but its proving impossible to get unless you are willing to spend double the retail price... Since there is no other Pateks which have my attention at the moment, I have turned to AP which ive been looking at last few years and not till last few months with the release of the new Royal Oak Perpetual in Steel its been on my mind and possibly could be my next purchase..My question to you guys here on the AP forum is what is your take on the new RO Perpetual?? And what do you feel about AP in terms of resale value on the secondary market?? Does AP hold its value over time??? I hear it doesnt but wanted to ask you guys here who have

This is what my AD tells me...He was never able to get one in stock, and now tells me that they are sold out and he won't be getting one.When you hear that something is a limited edition, it's usually a sales ploy..I've seen any shortage of 'limited editions' before.I guess I should have jumped on it when I had the chance.I tried it on at the Omega Boutique in NYC last week....it is absolutely stunning!Better than any photo can possibly show....heads and shoulders above the sub-cOnly reason I didn't jump was because I was sure that my AD would beat the price...

3 watches, 3 continents - no more rolex for me
With a new watch box in for Christmas I got the collection together for a small group snap. These represent half of the Collection with the other half covering, Complications & other brands.In looking at the Rolex however it struck me that the expression I’m done is often used on TRF however my Rolex journey is well and truly over and I thought I’d share the snap on TRF.The DD2 was bought from a certain DavidSW in the US and will soon reach its 5th year birthday.
