David Yurman Revolution Shelby 1000 Limited Edition Watch
American automotive legend Carroll Shelby passed away recently. He worked up until the end of his life and helped changed the face of what was cool in American automobiles. He is most well-known for his long partnership with Ford. Producing many versions of the Shelby Mustang, as well as the famous Shelby Cobra car. Just before he died, Shelby America released a new version of the Shelby Mustang called the Shelby 1000. It is meant to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company and has 1,100hp. So where does that 1000 number come from? I really don't know.Shelby partnered with David Yurman for a special limited edition version of their Revolution sport watch called the David Yurman Revolution Shelby 1000 Limited Edition. Actually there are two versions of the watch. One is strictly limited, and the other will have a "limited production." The cool watch gracefully embodies the spirit of the Cobra and the famous sport's marque. Other brands such as MARCH LA.B have worked with Shelby bef
Hands-On: The New Rolex Daytona Reference 116500LN (Live Pics, Thoughts, Details On Release)
Now that Baselworld is three weeks behind us, we can take a minute to answer the questions you all have about this – the most talked about watch of 2016, and the one that you've been told already has a very, very long waiting list – you know, the brand new Rolex Daytona. We announced the watch's release on Wednesday, March 16th, and three weeks and 80+ comments later, it is still pulling in a ton of traffic. This watch is hot, and in this post we will cover the specs, the details, and give you our own thoughts on it after spending a brief moment with it in the Rolex booth. What's more, we'll give you an idea of when the first batch will hit stores, how many an authorized dealer might hope to get it in calendar year 2016, and how many people are currently on the wait list. The Basics 1 OF 20 Reference 116500LN is the second reference of in-house, self-winding steel Daytonas from Rolex. Here are the very basics that you need to know.
Moon watch - careful usage
Call me difficult, but I would like to point out the loose usage of this term by numerous sellers on TRF.May I respectfully request that this term be reserved for reference to the Omega Speedmaster Professional watches only? If it's an automatic you're talking about, it simply can't be a moon watch. Some purists might urge that this term reference only models like the 145.012 and 105.012. However, omega itself refers to both vintage and current Speedmaster Professional watches, ie 3570.50, as moon watches. My impression is that it helps prevent misunderstandings if we agree on the definition of terms. What do you think?
Puzzled
There is an Aquanaut 5066 currently for sale on E-Bay which has received some spirited bidding even though the description plainly states that the original Patek movement is missing and that the watch has an ETA movement. Am I missing something? Why would an Aquanaut with a replacement ETA movement generate much interest at all?
