Omega to be Official Olympic Timekeeper Through 2020
Omega has signed an agreement with the IOC to be the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games through 2020. The signing ceremony and announcement took place at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. Omega’s relationship with the Olympics dates to the 1932 Los Angeles games, where they became the first company entrusted with the official timekeeping for all events. The new agreement cements Omega’s position for the winter games in Sochi, Russia in 2014, and the games of 2016, 2018 and 2020. Omega’s current IOC contract, signed in 2001, expires with the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London in 2012. The signing ceremony for the new agreement got under way when IOC President Jacques Rogge and Nicolas G. Hayek Sr., the Chairman of the Swatch Group, rang one of the Olympic bells used to signal the beginning of a final lap in the longer sporting competitions. Mr. Rogge and Mr. Hayek were joined at the event by Nick Hayek Jr., the Group's CEO, and Stephen Urquhart, the
Jorg Gray JG3700 Watches
One of Jorg Gray's new for 2011 models is the JG3700 collection that comes in both three-hand and chronograph models. For an interesting watch under $1,000 Jorg Gray offers a lot of good choices. Visually interesting though still classic in their proportions the JG3700 watch collection is an interesting range. One of the nicest elements of the design is how the Italian calf-leather strap is fitted to case. This integrated look is always a bonus. The case is 45mm wide in steel and water resistant to 100 meters. Some models are polished while others are polished and then done in IP black. The crystal is one of those mineral glasses coated in sapphire. Different brands have different names for this, but the idea is to offer the scratch resistance of an all sapphire crystal in a less expensive watch.Aside from the case the three-hand and chronograph models have totally different dials. Each has Swiss movements C ISA for the three-hand, and Ronda for the chronograph. The three-hand model is
Giant Speedmaster at Space and Rocket Center
Visited NASA's Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL yesterday with my daughter's class and noticed a GIANT Speedmaster Professional on the wall! It was right behind the Lunar lander display...must've been 6 or 8 feet tall! I didn't really see any information on it but thought it was pretty cool.Wasn't running so apparently, it needed a winding.

Does the paperwork indicate this run was limited to just 1500 pieces?Curious is that considered low production and is there a better chance for the watch to hold its future resale value? Appreciate any info the experts can share.Charlie
New Rolex after 17 years
Finally in the market for a new Rolex. I purchased my first one in 2001, a stainless and silver dial Datejust with a smooth bezel, when I got my first well paying job (I was 26) with the intention of keeping it forever and passing it along to my son when I had one someday. Well forever was shortened when it was stolen from my home (long story) in 2013. The Datejust garnered a lot of attention so I also purchased a Tag Monaco WW2110 as well as a Tag Monaco Steve McQueen Calibre 11 boutique edition both of which which I still have. My homeowners insurance paid for the stolen Datejust I never replaced it. Fast forward 17 years later and I finally have my 9 month old son and want another Rolex to pass down to him. I am deciding between a Submariner 116610, 114060 16610 (2001 same year as my first Rolex) or GMT 116710 black (I know Batman is more desired but don’t care for the black blue combo), 16710 Pepsi circa 2001 as Magnum PI was my favorite show as a kid and is responsible for
