Chronoswiss Launches 2010 Holiday Sweepstakes
Independent manufacturer Chronoswiss has announced the 2010 edition of its Holiday Sweepstakes in the United States. The contest runs November 15 through December 31, 2010, with a chance to win one of the brand new models from the Chronoswiss Sirius line of watches that was just released for sale in the United States. Chronoswiss traditionally uses the holiday season to give back to its loyal followers. “We are looking back on a tremendously successful 2010” said Hartmut Kraft, President of Chronoswiss of North America. “That is why we want to share one of our watches with the lucky winner of this Holiday Sweepstakes.” The winner will receive the stainless steel Sirius Ref. CH 1023, valued at $4,900 (pictured below). This watch features a hand-wound manufacture movement Cal. C.111 in a 40mm finely brushed and polished case with sapphire front and back crystals, water resistant to 30 meters (3 ATM). The hand-crafted and polished hands and applied numerals adorn
A new member of the Breitling club!
So I was killing time at the big mall here in Orlando while my wife was doing whatever she does. This mall has a Breitling Boutique (as well as a Rolex and Omega boutique as well). They had a boutique only 1 of 100 Avenger Blackbird with a stunning yellow face that really caught my eye. It was $5100 and I nearly got sucked into the 1 of 100 bit but I decided to take my smartphone (at my wife's insistence) and ask in this forum if the limited edition actually increases the value. Nearly immediately I received a response that no, in fact it does not and by the way don't buy a Breitling new anyway. Thanks TRF as always.Last night I was in another mall and my wife was looking for a Mikimoto bracelet, ths store was a Breitling dealer as well and I spotted an Avenger II Seawolf with a yellow dial on a rubber strap. I was not wild about the military strap on the blackbird anyway. Bottom line here, I walked out with this..I know, I was warned not to buy new but I felt I received a good
Omega Seamaster Titanium
I'm usually a Rolex fan but I can buy an Omega America's cup Titanium with dusty rose gold besel model 2294500. This is a new watch at an AD and they claim it's a collectors piece and a limited edtion. Comments on what is it really worth and type of calibre. Thanks in advance.
Shell strap authenticity from Bruce and Donna Ginsberg?
I recently purchased a strap for my brand-new PAM 422 from Bruce and Donna Ginsberg that purported to be Horween shell cordovan. I own numerous pairs of Alden shell cordovan shoes and am quite familiar how the material looks and behaves in footwear. There are a number of things about this strap that seems suspect to me, including how supple it is immediately (my shell shoes have taken a long while for the uppers to soften), the lack of color depth, and the stamp on the underside of the strap. The stamp doesn't look like the standard Horween stamp, and the trademark symbol that is normally above the N in Horween is adjacent to it. Horween also tries to have small portions of the larger stamp on most parts of the underside of the shell, and yet that is not visible on this strap. If I had to guess, I'd think the strap was one of the imitation shell cordovan materials that are a coated calf or other such thing. Has anyone here purchased a shell strap from Bruce and Donna, and if so, are yo
