Watches NEWS
Historical Perspectives: And Now A Break From All Those New Watches, Courtesy Of Six Vintage Pateks
For the past four days, we've been inundating you with the latest, greatest, and most extreme brand new watches from the SIHH 2015 – one of two of the most important watch trade shows each year. We've shown you everything from new, ultra thin split seconds chronographs, to inexpensive annual calendars, to collaborations amongst masters, to simple, time-only revivals, to diamond-laden flying tourbillons hidden with golden flowers. But each and everyone one of them have one thing in common – they are brand new. So today we'd though we'd break the chain of newness with just a simple post featuring two pictures of six watches. There is no story here, nothing to report. Instead, we thought we'd just show you six great old Patek Philippes from their front up top, and their back down below. Just beautiful, aren't they? Do any of the modern pieces we've seen at SIHH 2015 compare? You tell us.We'll be back with regularly scheduled SIHH 2015 programmin
5235G production number ..
I was visiting the PP Boutique yesterday and next to me a customer with a 5270R asking about his long waiting 5235g since early last year wasn't too happy and he asked the manager how many 5235g already been delivered since the launch, the manager told him he got no idea.I am wondering too... What do you think? My guess are... easily into the thousands??Jen
Need replacement Radiomir screws! And a scary drop story.
Hey All,I guess you get what you pay for because my aftermarket replacement screws from Panatime aren't holding the bar in correctly. Upon very scientific review (my eyeballs) they appear a bit too short and the finishing is a bit different than OEM. Can anyone recommend a good source for Radiomir bar screws? Backstory here is I was wearing my PAM384 (ceramic, mind you) and all of a sudden my wrist felt light. I look to my left and see my watch dangling from my hip (wrist was against my jeans, so barely holding the strap in place). After an immediate expletive reaction I carefully reached my right hand over, making sure not to move my left hand, and grabbed the watch. Any movement, or if I didn't notice, and my ceramic would have fallen about 3ft to the concrete floor. Lesson learned...don't skimp out on the screws that are keeping your ceramic PAM hanging on for dear life. -C
