Speedy 3570.50 or 3573.50?
I have read quite a bit about the history of the Speedmaster Pro. Further, I understand the 3570.50 is more traditional from a historical aspect. That said, I am torn between the two models as the ability to see the movement intrigues me as well. Please share your thoughts of which model you think I should go with. And yes I understand that in the end, I have to make the decision but basically - what would you do?
Omega info please
This watched belonged to my late stepfather and was bought brand new as you can see from the original receipt.I've had a little look around on Google and the watch code stands for / gents gold plated / leather strap / stainless back / electronic / non waterproof / calendar.Apart from this I know nothing regarding collectibility or value etc as I can't find the same model for sale anywhere. If it is of interest to Omega collectors I would rather it go to one of those rather than pass it to my son in the future only for him not to appreciate it.The watch is in near mint condition .. it is not currently working but it hasn't been worn for 18 years and so i'd guess this a battery issue.Any further info you can offer is appreciated greatly.
Aqua Terra Chronomter - Tek Silver or Gray Dial?
Hi - I am new to this forum and am currently looking to buy the new AQT (2008 onwards model) but unsure which dial colour to go for. I want it to be a more casual looking watch, to wear both with a suit every day and also jeans/t-shirt, etc. Most have advised me to go for the silver finish as it will also look great with a brown leather strap if Ii want to interchange, and it perhaps looks a little less formal?Currently own a 19 year old Deville Quartz in gold, so whatever I choose it will be very different.Any advice would be great.Thanks.Matt
New SMP and a huge thanks to a great TRF member!
Yes, I just got another SMP, I sold my last one a little while ago. But, when I found out the 2254 is supposed to be discontinued this year I just had to get another one. The only Omega dealer in the area is Tourneau, they think the word discount is a four letter word. So, I reached out to David (DocD), he called his AD for me and got me a great deal on this one. His AD overnight shipped and it just came in today. I almost forgot how much I love this watch. Thanks again, Doc. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help
send watch to panerai for service or local?
So I'm in Chicago and wanted to get my Pam 392 serviced, there is a slight scuff on the bezel and the tiniest of chips on the crystal. Its been running just a tad slow since I got it and I just picked up another watch so figured I would get this serviced so its perfect. Question is should I send to Panerai? I heard they are pretty pricey and could take awhile. Or have a local watchmaker take a look (if I go this route he won't replace the crystal, would need to send it to panerai to get a authentic panerai crystal is what one guy said) also any recommendations for someone in Chicago to work on it?I'm thinking of selling it too so want it nice if I decide to go that route, is it even worth refinishing or selling as is? I'm the original owner and have the box and all paperwork so it should make it easier.
