Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends January 31, 2014
SIHH 2014 has just concluded and in this round-up we will cover all the highlights from the show - including Panerai's new vintage looking chronographs, A. Lange & S?hne's mega Terraluna watch and Van Cleef & Arpels' romantic Complication Poetique Midnight Planetarium. We also examine why we should rethink Chinese made watches and find out why our Editor-in-Chief Ariel does not have a favorite watch.1. Panerai Radiomir 1940 Limited Edition ChronographsEvery year at SIHH, Panerai releases a couple of limited edition watches and this year was no different. For 2014, Panerai introduced three new Radiomir chronograph watches using the 1940 Radiomir case. The highlight, however, is its retro-style dial and underneath it, the Panerai OP XXV caliber which is in fact based on Minerva 13-22 movement. I must admit that I was slightly taken aback when I first saw these watches, but I'm gradually warming up to them now.Source: watches-dealer2. Why There Is No Best Watch And How I Don't H
26300 Variants
Hello All!So Im back in the hunt for a 26300 (39 mm RO), but am now seen a bunch of variants.I'm seeing a black dial kasparov, obviously the white/red panda, the all white, a blue, a brown-ish one.Does anyone know a good resource for all the different ones out there? There are definitely some deals to be had! Thanks!
My first AP...
...I just got my first AP, an H-Series 15300...Love it!
Audemars Piguet at its best!
Greetings TRF,I had a little bit of fun tonight with my camera and light box and I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you some pictures of what makes my new (to me) AP work...We start off with the complete watch sans bracelet...Given that it's an old gold watch, scratches and dings are all over the place but it's okay, that's why I collect what I collect...The caseback is quite easy to take off but the popping sound it makes still reminds you that it will always keep the movement safe! And here it is! For those of you who didn't see my incoming thread, this movement is the Audemars Piguet caliber 2003, a small two hands movement developped by Jaeger-Lecoultre who has been sold to AP from 1953 to 2002 (if memory serves), they would then adjust it and finish it (if I'm not mistaken, I know the adjustments are done by them but I can't fully remember if they took care of the perlage and c?tes de Genve). This same bauche has also been sold to Vacheron Constantin for severa
