Celebrating The 100th Anniversary Of The First Chronometer Certified Wristwatch By Rolex
As proudly stated on their dials, all Rolex timepieces manufactured today are?certified chronometers, meaning that every single one of them has been?rigorously tested for?timekeeping accuracy. With that in mind, we could C and perhaps we do C take the accuracy of a Rolex watch for granted, so now let's take a look back in time and discover how Rolex have created?the first chronometer certificate wristwatch ever, tested and awarded?by the incredibly demanding Kew Observatory exactly 100?years ago. Those intrigued by the provenly superior accuracy of timepieces will surely?be familiar with COSC (Contr?le Officiel Suisse des Chronomtres), the official Swiss chronometer testing institute that has been issuing certificates since 1973. The history of chronometer certification goes back hundreds of years however,?as these?clocks and pocket watches?of exceptional quality and timekeeping performance?actually served as navigation instruments?on the decks of ships sailing across the seas. Audemars Piguet Watches with stainless steel and polished Rose Gold
Audemars Piguet Watches with stainless steel and polished Rose Gold finish with Caramel leather strap and the White dial with Mother of Pearl dial finish is the real toast of the market. Though there are various brands in the market but Audemars Piguet Watches differs from others as it comes with variety in terms of the range of its collection.
Suggestions on a sports watch
I'm sure what the answer will be from most, but I'll ask anyway. I have always liked collecting watches, and was buying Tag and Hamilton level stuff. I just made the jump to a DJII, and now want a new weekend sports watch to compliment it. Long story short is I love the Breitling Superocean 42 and the Explorer II. With that said after just buying my first Rolex my budget is a little shot. I know very little about Breitling watches, but is the Superocean a good fill in until I can get an Explorer II down the road?(most likely several years).
New Power Reserve!
Finally got my Power Reserve. Had a 104 but it drove me crazy when I would not wear it for a bit (don't use winders) and it would be out of gas. In person the negatives said about the 90 are mute to me. You can't really notice the little markers between the sticks (can't think of the right word for them) and the Cyclops is fine with me as I like to see the date. So far couldn't be happier.
Unexpected incoming: White C Daytona
Had a wonderful unexpected opportunity to pick up either the BLNR or ceramic daytona for MSRP. I couldn't really pick but the combination of the overwhelming opinion from this forum and trying both on hand pushed me to purchase the ceramic daytona.I must admit, it wasnt really on my radar and I was never particularly excited over it. Part of this was because i really did not like the 16520s. However, seeing the 16500 white dial in real life really surprised me. The white, black and slight red accent all combined to make something that is very reminiscent of the vintage Newmans, but with a clear modern feel to it. Amazing watch, will likely to be a long term piece as it complements my collection quite nicely. Here it is in all its glory!
