How One Guy Made A Shockingly Good Urwerk UR-202 Watch Homage
Meet Karel, a young engineering student from San Ramon, California.?Fueled by his love for horology and?the more unusual timepieces of the 21st century, he quickly grew fond of Urwerk and their unique?ways of displaying time. In fact, he liked them so much, that he set out to harness his studies as an engineering student and?design and craft his very own homage to his favorite?high-end?watch brand C and today, he shares his experience and achievement with us...It all started roughly 2 years ago, when I first set my eyes on a few of Urwerk's timepieces. Their watches were unlike anything I had ever seen: to me, they were modern day pioneers of the watchmaking industry. One thing that really fascinated me about these pieces was that they feature incredible advancements in horology, while seamlessly meshing these mechanisms in a very aesthetically pleasing way. It is not uncommon to see a watch that is packed full of incredible engineering feats, while the rest of the design seems to be a
3 out of 4 watches will be AP... Is that crazy?
Ok so I was thinking about buying another watch and that happens to be an AP ......if I go ahead with it, 3 out of 4 watches will be AP... is that a bit crazy? Are there more ppl out there whose 90% watch collection consists of APs?Currently I have a 15400 SS, 26320 RG on strap... and the one I'm eyeing is the new 44 rose gold novelty ROO
Where there's a will, there's a way...AP 15300
This is one hard watch to find these days....but I'm finally proud to be a new owner of a 15300! Since none of the forums sellers had it, I had to turn to the ADs. After calling more than half the dealers from AP's site yesterday, when one of them said: yes, we do have that one....I knew right there I would finally own one, and after a wire transfer and day later, it's on my wrist.I had tried the 15400, it's an amazing watch, but the way it sat on my wrist I felt it was too big. I absolutely love this watch, very comfortable so far, light weight, love the AP logo at the 12 o clock. My first AP and more to come...Now should I get the rose gold, black dial with black strap as well....?
Any of you Patek owners vintage Rolex collectors also?
I was all ready to pull the trigger on my first Patek this week. Well the offer fell through and a friend of mine said I really need to give vintage Rolex a try. He says, New watches are cold and lifeless. I said if my Patek deal feel through, I'd give it a shot. Well, deal fell through and I half committed to a vintage Rolex (1675). (based on condition, paperwork, etc, but it is apparently very top condition - not rare however).Well, now the Patek deal is back on the table as previous buyer backed out (briefly I'm sure). So, any Patek fans here also vintage Rolex guys? I have a 16610 and a 116610lv. Should I go entry Patek first or mid-tier vintage Rolex. If I go Patek, I have to back out of my Rolex agreement, but I it would not be end of the world.
