Watches NEWS
New Book Traces Audemars Piguet History
Founded in 1875 in Le Brassus by watchmakers Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet, today the Manufacture Audemars Piguet employs almost 1,000 people in Switzerland and around the world. This new book illustrates the Audemars Piguet passion for fine watchmaking, cultivated for 136 years. Audemars Piguet began in a workshop in a family home in a small town in the Jura. Finding its way through the political and economic upheavals of the 20th century, the brand has succeeded in perpetuating the values of its founders while combining high-tech procedures with the patient work of its artisans. The new Audemars Piguet book relates the story of the firm since its founding through richly illustrated chronological sequences. The first chapters, The Joux Valley, or the nature of watches and Watchmaking in the genes, relate the company's history and look back to its earliest roots in the Joux Valley (Swiss Jura), a haven of complicated horology since the mid-18th century. The pages offer
Another watch back from APSC Clearwater and some good news!
Only took 3 weeks to get my diver back from AP with a full service and additional 2 year warranty. Really like the new custom packaging to keep the watch safe. Now on to the good news....AP has a boutique opening in LA mid September and they will be hosting more events on the west coast. I really hate missing out on the east coast events because I travel far less now that I have young kids. If anyone is going to the Serena Williams and Stan Wawrinka rooftop tennis event in NY please take pics for TRF. Sounds like it's going to be a great time!

Does anyone know what I should expect to pay for one of these if lucky enough to be offered one.
sell 5712R for regulator 5235G?
here is a question that is nagging me:::)))) a month ago i committed for a regulator 5235G (within a downpayment that is actually refundable if i withdraw from the deal). however, very recently i got offered a 5711R - which i have been chasing for a while - for an excellent price, to which i have immediately agreed. the 5711R is actually a no-brainer for me - some lust for gold probably:::))). so here are my options, since for reasons of internal family hygiene in cannot get two watches in a month: sell my 5712R (i already have a very good offer, about what i paid for it) and get the 5235G or just cancel the deal on the regulator. an argument for the former is that the 5712R will see little wrist time only since the 5711R will take over the nautilus part, an argument for the latter is that the 5712R is actually an appreciating asset and after all 'easier' to wear than the full gold 5711R.i also have currently a 5227R and a 5320G incoming next year.help::::)))) decisons decisions.....fi
According to an AD in Switzerland, the 5712 being discontinued in 2 years
The AD manager told me he was told this two days ago directly from Patek. After 2019, they are done.Any thoughts on how this will affect the re-sale value of them? Will it push prices up or down?
