HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 139: The Trouble With Skulls & Seiko Loving
John is in Iceland but we still manage to stay warm with watches. We discuss the innovating yet perhaps futile Urwerk EMC movement, and the easily lovable Seiko Prospex Tuna with the Spring Drive movement. We also cover Montegrappa's new Chaos watch (you'll either hate it or love it), and the nice looking new Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Auto Chrono.Listen to the HourTime Show watch podcast episode 139 here »Or, download the mp3 here and now.To follow along at home:See the Montegrappa Chaos in silver - check it out on our Facebook page (along with the comments) here and the GOLD version here. And we wrote about the Seiko Prospex Spring Drive Tuna SBDB008 Watch here. The URWERK tinkering with the movement is here. The Hamilton Khaki Pilot Pioneer Auto Chrono is here.
How to clean a DSOTM?
Hi, I never had a strap watch before. I was told to use leather conditioner for the leather side of the strap and warm water for the cordura side. If that's the case, any recommendations for the type of leather conditioner and spring bar tool remover so as to remove the strap when cleaning the case? Thanks.
Incoming - Finally getting around to posting pics.
So after seeing SteelerFan65's beautiful chocolatey goodness 53 year old Speedy (His beauty can be seen here:.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=293173), I really wanted one. So with the help of Krlyuzh I was able to acquire my own chocolatey goodness! I have had it for a couple of weeks, but finally got around to posting the pics. Hope you enjoy as much as I have wearing this beauty. Right now keeping it on the bracelet, but am looking for a nice brown leather band. Now I just to have wait for 53 years before I can get that vintage look! A couple of wrist shots.
5980/1ar vs. 5711 dial colour
I dont know if this is worthy of a new thread but is the blue dial the same colour for both? I havent seen a 5711 IRL to compare.
Accidentally bought a Swiss replica Rolex ...
... just kidding. But how do you know that you are getting he real thing when buying second hand? Some of the cloned Rolex watches are supposed to be so good that even a jeweler is fooled. Is there still a good way for all of these resellers to ensure they are buying and selling authentic watches? I'm considering buying another sub, but I'm a bit worried about it.
