AP Ambassadors - in some cases... why???
Guys who own watches related to these ambassadors, please don't take this personally, the watches related to the ambassadors I am about to mention are some of AP's nicest, BUT I find some of AP's ambassador choices a bit... unusual.Rubens Barrichello - lovely bloke, long career, not much success, good back up driver to Schumacher.Jarno Trulli - again, nice long career in which he won f... all. Well, sorry, that's not fair, he won 1 GP.Both kinda mediocre...I just wonder why they didn't align themselves with more successful ambassadors - perhaps they don't have the budget that TAG/Omega/etc have?Thoughts?PS... and YES, they have both won more F1 races than me! :)
PO love
Some may remember my thread last month about getting scammed on a 42mm PO. Well, look what the fedex man dropped off today. I just swapped out the bracelet for the strap and I LOVE it! 45mm of pure Planet Ocean
Reference guide for Patek Calatravas?
So I am looking into buying my first Patek potentially as my next watch purchase and have been leaning towards a pre-owned 3919J however I was curious about previous similar 3 hand calatrava references that may have been available over the last 40 years or so that I may find preferable to the 3919. Any suggestions of where I could find something online that would have the info on the past calatravas so I can see what else is out there? Or is anyone aware of some other references I should research of look into? Looking for a three hand, no date, manual wind in the 33-37mm range. I do prefer the roman numeral dial of the 3919 over say the applied hour markers on the 5196J put am not a fan of the 3919 hob knob case finish.
Patek 5960 My Favorite
I have several patek watches but the 5960 is my favorite. I prefer it over my 5970 perpetual chronograph since I don't have to wind it and I can see the power reserve. I hate not being certain about my time with when I wear my 5970 and not sure if it is wound. Although I cannot see the movement with the 5960 like I can with the 5970 due to the rotor, I don't really care. The automatic movement and Patek's first chronograph make it a special watch to me. I also love the mono chronometer dial. I use it as a GMT all the time. For example, my wife is in Europe now and I can see what time it is there with my chronograph once I set it at 12:00 to their time. The size is perfect and the annual calendar function is fantastic. To me it serves as a GMT and annual calendar watch with power reserve that is very useful to me when I travel. The day of the week and the ability to see the other time zone is what I require most when I travel.I prefer the original platinum and rose dial because of the
Rolex Sea Dweller
Gents,Recently bought a 16600 SD and it is awesome! I pulled the crown out today to set the date and time after not wearing it for a week and the time setting to the last position of the crown only clicks. The hands will not move. Almost like the bezel is rotating sound. Any thoughts on what this is and how to get er fixed? Thanks Gents
