Doxa Auctions Limited-Edition Divers’ Watches Worn By Jean-Michel Cousteau
Doxa, the Swiss watch company that introduced the world to the first orange-dialed divers watch, is auctioning five limited-edition models of its Doxa Sub 1200T, each one personally worn by diving legend Jean-Michel Cousteau. Profits from the auctions, which began this week on eBay, will benefit Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society. Each Doxa Sub 1200T watch, which is designed to echo the look of the original Doxa 300T Conquistador divers’ watch from 1967, will bear the logo of the Ocean Futures Society and Jean-Michel Cousteau’s name on the dial. The watches are from a special series made exclusively for Cousteau and his team, joining a long line of special edition? divers’ watches that Doxa has made throughout the years, for organizations like Project Aware, NUMA, TUSA, the Seahunters, and the Royal Australian Navy. In the early 1970s, the Doxa Sub watch was used by U.S. Navy divers as well as by elite diving units in the Swiss, French, and Polish military. In lite
Vacheron Constantin Historiques Aronde 1954
This newcomer to the Historiques collection is inspired by a model created during the post-war years. Its pink gold 31.2 x 44. 55mm case embodies a complex construction. Aronde is an Old French word for a swallow's wings, and it refers to the original double-rounded curve unfurling almost like wings along the case flanks. The opaline silvered dial is adorned with a fine hand-guilloch. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. This distinctive piece with a vintage spirit is powered by Calibre 1400 AS, a mechanical hand-wound movement, bearing the Hallmark of Geneva, developed and manufactured in-house by Vacheron Constantin. This piece has a style all its own, and it harks back to the days when a successful writer, artist, or other creative individual might express their position through the timepiece on their wrist. The USA retail price is $26,200.Technical data appears below the images, which may be enlarged with a click. 16610 LV Question
Evening All,I'm debating getting one of these watches in 2018, and while doing some research into the watch, found photos of two different shades of the green bezel insert from the same article on bobswatches. Are there different production models of the watch which reflect different shades of the green bezel insert? Here's what I mean. The first picture, showing a lighter shade:Here's a second from the same article, showing a darker insertIs this just a lighting issue? These inserts look very different to me. Any thoughts?Best,TASent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
