Carl F. Bucherer Patravi ChronoDate Ladies
With a diameter of 40 mm, the new Patravi ChronoDate Ladies offers a bold, classic-sporty look. The bezel is set with 48 diamonds weighing .8 ct. Dial choices include contemporary white and elegant mother-of-pearl. A stainless steel bracelet, or a strap in python or Louisiana alligator skin, add the finishing touch. The large, framed date below 12 makes reading the date easier and faster. Carl F. Bucherer has used this type of date indication for decades. Combined with an appearance that is radiant in every sense, this big date and the chronograph features provide further proof of Carl F. Bucherer's technical expertise, constructive skill, and consistent design standards. Both inside and out, the Patravi ChronoDate Ladies continues to turn heads long after it has made its first impression.Technical details appear below the images, which may be enlarged with a click.Facts & Figures: Patravi ChronoDate LadiesReference number: 00.10611.08.23.12Movement: automatic, CFB 1956 caliber, di
Mhle-Glashtte M29 Classic Watch
While I've been content (so far) to view the vintage watch world from afar, I do have a soft spot in my heart for watches that draw direct inspiration from an earlier model in a company's history. Just recently, Mhle-Glashtte introduced a watch in that very vein - the M29 Classic, and I quite like it. More good news is that price is pretty good for a Muhle Glashutte timepiece.Interestingly, they didn't just take inspiration from their own watches. They also delved into their earlier history when Robert Mhle was making precision measurement instruments for the watch industry in Glashtte. From this part of the back catalog, they settled in on the Model 29 indicator gauge. While this sort of gauge looks simple, readability is of the utmost importance - especially at the tolerances and scale involved. While I've not used this particular gauge, I've used others in my past working in an aerospace machine shop, so I know that accuracy and clearness are of the utmost importance. This then i
First Look at the Gavox Avidiver
Last October at Wind-Up: NYC, I got a sneak peek at a prototype watch by Gavox that was very exciting. As you might recall, last time we discussed Gavox, who are a small brand with fairly bold ambitions, they had redefined the quartz pilot with their Aurora watch. One of the first watches to use a Soprod Mecatronic movement, it took an analog aviator design and gave it the functionality of a digital watch with an impressive array of complications. Their newest watch continues their pursuit of original variations on the pilot with a mechanical concept that is meant to excel above and below land; the Avidiver. At a glance, the Avidiver appears to be a dual crown aviator watch, presumably with an internal bezel. However, the second crown doesna?t control the bezel, but rather the bright orange triangle seen at 12. By positioning the triangle at various points across the dial, one can set a second time zone (such as with a Zulu bezel), or track their elapsed time (as with a typical dive be
Help with speedmaster
Hello, I am new to the forum. I was looking into buying a speedmaster and the sapphire sandwich looks particularly appealing... Could someone please educate me as to the pros/cons of this model versus the other speedmasters? If this has been discussed previously I apologize
