Watch Insider Unveils 3 New Breitling Watches
This is what I would call a nice line extension. In this article from my blog, Watch-Insider, I offer a look at three newly released Breitling watches (or Instruments for Professionals, as Breitling would call them): the Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition, Breitling Chronomat 44 Raven, and Breitling Galactic 44. The Breitling?Transocean Chronograph Edition plays with the history of Breitling. Inspired by a model from 1958 (an ultra-precise, anti-shock, anti-magnetic and super-water-resistant watch that was released during the boom in intercontinental air travel), the Transocean reflects the spirit of great journeys and luxury long-haul aircraft. The watch features a two-tone dial with two vintage-style counters, and a double caseback complete with a cover. The Breitling Transocean Chronograph Edition limited series reinterprets the “contemporary-classic” style of the Transocean line; it is a tribute to Breitling's long history of making chronographs. Omega PO Crown Waterproof Unscrewed?
I'm curious if anyone has an answer, is the PO crown still waterproof to any degree when unscrewed?Rolex claims that both the twinlock and triplock crowns will maintain their watertight nature even when fully unscrewed, so I'm wondering if Omega has the same or similar design. I sometimes think about what would happen if I showered or swam with my PO 8500 with the crown unscrewed (don't worry, I'm not brave enough to do it).I suppose the best way to find out would be to unscrew the crown an put it in a pressure tester and see at what point it fails...
Breguet Numerals
Came across some of Patek's older men's Calatravas with the beautiful Breguet numerals but none of the present men's Calatrava or Annual Calendar collection use them. Any reason so? Does Patek have to pay licensing for it?
Got my 5167 back today!
Picked up my 5167 today having been returned from Patek following a scratch on the lug and clasp made by the AD when changing the strap as it had originally been cut too short. With an extra rib the new strap fits perfectly and I can't believe how comfortable this watch is....amazing just perfect. I have really missed this piece and with it fitted correctly it is even better. Patek sent me a lovely email apologising for the inconvenience and said they did not valet the clasp where there is a very minor scratch due to it being a new timepiece and they did not advise it, but they have given me a complimentary valet at the next routine service.Picture of me wearing it today. Glad to have it back and love it more than ever
