TAG Heuer Carrera Heritage Collection
In 1963 Jack Heuer started work on a new chronograph designed for drivers and motor-racing enthusiasts. A life-long fan of the sport himself, he knew what it was needed: a wide-open, easy-to-read dial and a shock-resistant and waterproof case tough enough for road wear. The following year he launched the result, a mechanical, manual-wound chronograph called the Carrera. The name derives from Carrera Pan Americana, a five-day, 2,100 mile race across Mexico. The most prestigious – and dangerous – endurance race of its day. Carerra in Spanish means competition of the highest order . The new chronograph was a great success and was worn by every Ferrari Scuderia driver, including Carlos Reutemann, Clay Regazzoni, Jacky Ickx, Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Gilles Villeneuve and Jody Scheckter. This year, TAG Heuer launches the Carrera Heritage Collection, a time and date watch and a chronograph with classic looks rooted in the Carrera legacy. The Collection is available in a 39mm wa
The First Rolex Oyster Watch From 1926
What you see are the two versions of the very first Rolex Oyster watch, in other words, the world's first water-resistant timepiece. It was proven on the wrist of a swimmer, and when it was released in 1926 it was a rather big deal. The origin of the Oyster name is rather straightforward, borrowed from the sea-dwelling mollusk of the same name, and has been a hallmark of Rolex ever since. In fact, all Rolex watches produced today are technically in the Rolex Oyster collection (except the less common Cellini Prince models), sharing the first Rolex Oyster watch's focus on durability and water resistance.Original 1926 pre-production Rolex Oyster watch on my wrist from the collection of Rolex expert James Dowling.Rolex was a young brand when the original Rolex Oyster watch was released, but it was not until later in Rolex's history did the brand focus on the Rolex Oyster concept almost exclusively. Hans Wilsdorf, German born and living in London, entered the watch industry in 1905 doing t
Chopard screen seems to be high quality
The color LCD display negative operates a series of functions such as a chronograph, alarm, second time zone, calendar and easy to reverse. The screen seems to be high quality, so it look like you are wearing some odd Frankenstein luxurious watches. In fact the movement is likely to be a thermo-compensated quartz, because it is certified COSC chronometer - which has special requirements for quartz watches in terms of accuracy and to provide this certification.

Questions on the 5167
Thanks to all those posting pics of the 5167, I have been thinking about acquiring this beauty for some time. I have recently had the opportunity to borrow one from an acquaintance for a few days (it is extremely kind of him to let me borrow it) and I must admit I love it. The bezel is quite scratched up, so I suspect he is not as 'wrist aware' as I am. I have a few questions :-1. What is the current UK retail price for a 5167 on tropical strap? (Post recent reduction in prices).2. What is the likelihood of getting one with a discount from the UK?3. Does the bezel suffer wear from sleeves rubbing? I know puffy (Anders) found this to be the case and I believe was a reason he sold his, but I wondered what others experiences are? I expect scratches from impacts and I am careful to avoid those, but I have been hesitant up to now going for the 5167 due to concerns about the bezel's resilience to wear from long sleeves on clothes and coats. 4. I have read that when Patek service, it can take
