A. Lange & Sohne 165 Years - Homage To F.A. Lange Collection: Tourbograph "Pour le Merite," Lange 1 Tourbillon, And 1815 Moonphase Watches
Earlier this year A. Lange & Sohne announced a limited edition collection of (even more) decorated watches as homages of the 165th anniversary of their founder, Ferdinand Adolph (F.A.) Lange. In 1845 Mr. Lange moved from Dresden to the nearby small mountain town of Glashutte. As Lange likes to see it, history was then born! The 165 Years - Homage to F.A. Lange Collection includes three watches. They are not new watches per se, but done with unique treatment. Each on a new gold color called "honey gold." More on that in a sec. The watches each have guilloche engraved dials, which is rare for the brand these days.? First is the Tourbograph "Pour le Merite," then the Lange 1 Tourbillon, and finally the quite new 1815 Moonphase watch.Honey gold is a new 'invention' by Lange. It is a novel gold alloy that has a honey color to it. The warm look of the gold is unparalleled. It has a light brass look to it. Plus, it resembles the patina that the German silver (not actually silver) gets on i
Sold the 15407ST
Well, it’s gone but not forgotten. Had an offer of $56K after 2 years of ownership. And apparently it’s showing up on trf AP is ramping up the production. I will buy one again in a couple of years when the hype dies.
The wheels are in motion!
I have ordered an Royal Oak 15400 black dial which should be in my hands next week. Very excited. This will be my first time in this level having been wearing Rolex and Panerai for the last years. Looking forward to getting leather and rubber straps going soon also.Stay tuned.
5980/1A (white) or 5960/1A
Just received a call from my AD.. Out of surprise while I am STILL waiting for my 5235G (I missed the opportunity recently due to my traveling schudule), I am being offered both double sealed 5980/1A (white) and the 5960/1A both at the same price. I owned a 5980/1A briefly (for only a week) before, sold it to a good friend who love the watch more than I do during that time and now I kinda regret cos I like even more now than ever and getting a brand new double sealed is not easy. I think out of all the SS 5980, the white dial is least popular.. I only seen them in the wild couple of times while the black and blue are common (I love the blue btw) The 5960/1A is really hot right now and it is one of the latest PP, hence will be a great addition maybe might end up too popular? No? PS. I am buying the watch for my own use. Daily beater. Love to hear your thoughts.Thank you in advance for your kind feedbacks! .. Jane
Since Panerai has decided to discontinue their vintage calf line of straps...
Does anyone have any recommendations of similar 3rd party ones?I can't for the life of me figure out why they'd stop making them, but I really wanted to grab a few of them but they've basically dried up except for a few used ones on eBay at ridiculous prices. I really like the look (rough edges/etc.) but am having trouble finding anything similar.
