First year Seamasters (1947) command premium prices?
I'm curious if Seamasters from 1947, the first year the Seamaster name was used, are considered more collectable than their counterparts from later years. I've seen a good number of '47 Seamasters for sale, and haven't personally noticed a substantial price difference, but I'm curious if others have. It would make sense, after all, for first year watches to command a premium. I purchased a vintage Seamaster (one of many that have made their way into my collection) some time ago. At the time of purchase, the exact date of production was not given. I later used the serial number to date it to 1947. It struck me later when reading another post on the Seamaster line that '47 was the first year of production. I don't plan to sell anyway, but I do enjoy having a watch from the original year of the famous Seamaster line.

5146p vs 5196p
Hi guys, This is my first time posting and viewing the Patek Philippe section as i am a rolex guy. Last week i decided to drop by an AD PP, and saw their platinum collection. i liked the 5146P and the 5196P most and can't decide which one to buy. My daily watch is Rolex GMT IIc. I've never owned a watch with leather straps and i don't own a watch with a light dial (most of my watches have a black dial). Out of these two which one do you find more appealing?(picture are from the internet)5146 is the one with the moon Phase. Thanks
Dont Fly - Get sea sick: GMT2, Sub, or YM?
Hey all, I am new to these forums but have been lurking for a little. Trying to figure out which watch to upgrade to. I have an Oyster Perpetual Date I've owned for 10 years, and would like something different. The three I've narrowed down to are either GTM 2, Submariner or Yachtmaster --- and as you can see by the title of the post, I don't have much of a use for the tools they provide. So I'm merely going based on personal like when worn. Looking to purchase on the gray/preowned market and use my current OPD as trade to lower the price. I'm having trouble deciding which to purchase. There are so many variations with pre-owned. All of the above are around the same price that I've seen but vary in age. Also, some have box and papers while others don't. If I could ask quick options on the following:- How much do box and papers matter? (Purchasing from a gray dealer in person - reputable local jeweler)- How much does age of the watch matter? (eg. YM - 2000, GMT - 2013, SUB D- 2006)- Are
New Rolex Daytona purchase
I have just completed the first part of a transaction that will see me purchasing a T/T 2018 Rolex Daytona 116503 (New Model) White MOP eight Diamonds Dial. I have just Sold a T/T 2017 Rolex Daytona 116503 (New Model) White Dial with Gold Sub Dials. I received a good price for it 9,750 GBP though I didn't sell it to the shop where I bought it less that a year ago, they were unable to pay me what I was looking for. So I sold it elsewhere, but I will be purchasing the new Daytona from the Dealer where I buy all my Watches which is a Grey Dealer in the North of England. They are exceptional when it comes to price. The new Daytona I am purchasing was priced at 14,565 GBP but because I am a regular customer they reduced it by 65 GBP which was very good of them. So the new Watch is costing me 14,500 GBP which is about 18,000 Dollars. I will be flying from my Country to Manchester UK at the end of May to pay the balance owed & collect my new Watch. I am very excited about this, hopefully
