Changing straps
Hi, quick question on the topic of changing straps, Is it important that I use loctite when performing a strap change?Do I need to heat up the screws so I can remove them easier? Any other opinions and comments on strap changes would be appreciated as I am about to undergo this procedure for the first time on my AP. Thanks
Incoming! First AP
Hey guys, just ordered my first AP and should get it in a couple weeks. It was an impulse buy after watching APs online. I just fell in love with the 41mm ROC with black dial. After debating with myself for a while between the 15202 and the ROC, I ended up choosing the ROC, and this was no easy decision. Even after sending the funds to the seller I still had my doubts, and from what I've read here in the forum, there's not much love for the ROC and there's plenty for the Jumbo. I love that the jumbo represents classic AP design, it's really a stunner, but I felt maybe it was a little dressier for me and the ROC fits more my lifestyle. Now my current collection consists of a SubC, an Explorer II 42mm, Speedmaster 3572.50 and the AP ROC, all black dials.I'll post pictures when I get it, for the mean time I'll share this two I found on line that were partly responsible for the itch.
Intro - New(ish) member and his two Omegas
Greetings. Just created my profile a few days ago, so thought I should introduce myself here on Omega, and share pics of my two Omega pieces. My Aqua Terra was my first mechanical watch. It was a gift from my wife while we were visiting the island of St. Martin in 2004 (wow, time flies). As we left the store with my new Omega on my wrist, I claimed this is the last watch I'll ever need, honey. Oops.A couple of years later, I noticed my Rolex AD was wearing a beat-up old Speedmaster one day. I bought it as-is, and sent to RGM for overhaul/restoration. Love my Speedmaster!
UK Dealers selling to Foreigners
So wanted to just pose a general question out there. How easy is it for someone coming from the US to purchase a Rolex from the UK. I am obviously trying to get a better price on the watch and get back the VAT. I have heard that AD's in the UK are starting to get peeved about this practice and reluctant to do so??And same question with regards to getting your name on a waitlist for a Batman or Hulk. Can someone from the US do so in the UK?
Submariner
Is it pronounced subMARiner or submaRINer
